Lead up to the New Year
By: Winger14 Date: December 8, 2025, 4:27 pm

Two more games to go before the end of 2025, who will be be at
the Top of the League.
Sat 13 Rotherham v Sedgley I can't
predict anything but a 5pt Win for Rotherham
Rosslyn Park v Rams Hard
to predict, but " Come on Rams ", play like you did against
us.
Fri 19 Rosslyn Park v Tonbridge Should be
a Rosslyn victory, but would you put your House on it ?
Sat 20 Leeds v Rotherham My Head
says a minimum 4pt Win for Rotherham, but my Heart says a
definite 5pts.
A Big, Wide pitch, so play an expansive game and
our Speedy Backs could have a Birthday.

Albion, Sale & Blackheath are all within touching distance of
the top two clubs, this league is very competitive.
There will be many twists and turns, even up to the end of this
year.

In the Yorkshire Post article Harvey talks about internal
preparation as the coaching team have no control over who they
play. Tonbridge have their Harlequins, Clifton and Dings have
their Bristolians and you see the wax and wane of some teams as
both the attritional nature and the base high skill level of
this league works its magic. The individual variation afforded
to some teams (as we found out at Dings) can mean that we
sometimes face a team that is 2/3rds premiership academy
quality. All teams lose players and many teams have a few core
players that influence the team more than others. Rotherham,
under Harvey, now have a bit of depth and consistency and some
star quality. We have a strong core but this will be sternly
tested in the second half of the season. We have 6 away games
including Park, Blackheath, Bishop Stortford (now finding their
feet) and Judds. Harvey stated in the article that he doesnt
feel that he has fielded a full strength side yet (in part with
players playing whilst not fully fit and also player that are
ruled out with injury), this is despite the size of the squad. I
think the Park and Blackheath Games will be the toughest and
Plymouth/Sale will be very tough home matches. Bonus points are
also critical and at a premium so it is all to play for. To
challenge for the Champ we need to be getting 5 points from the
teams in the bottom half (which is not a given) becuase
Blackheath, Park and Plymouth will probably achieve this.

Lots of work to do yet but I do think this team is still growing
and will continue to improve.
Those away games are going to be tough but no side goes through
this league unscathed. I can’t remember the last time a side
went up undefeated. I think Richmond lost 3 or 4 last year. Not
talking about a loosing mindset just pointing out that it is a
very difficult league to escape and there will be twists and
turns.
Our lads have the skills and coaching to succeed. We are still
getting better. I think the likes of Issac Shaw, Travis Gordon
and others seem to somehow get better with each game which is a
scary thought for the opposition.
We have quality and depth in every position and a coaching staff
and club behind them pushing them all the way.
I think we will get the 5 in both our next two games.
