Just arrived back from a long weekend in Plymouth and caught up
       with the posts.
Agree with most, but not all of what has been said. Again, it
was a fantastic effort by the lads against all the odds; the
better team does not always win. Rotherham 3 tries to Plymouth's
1 was an accurate reflection of how the teams performed. The
lineout was much better, especially first half - Luke Cole was
pretty accurate. 3 lineouts did misfire at the end - any one of
the could have finished it. I don't agree with the comments
about poor kicking. Many of our kicks put them under pressure
and forced them into mistakes. 2 of the tries came directly from
kicks. They were good at competing and knocking the ball back at
restarts. Our scrum was on top but did not get rewarded for
their efforts. We were going forwards at a rate on several
occasions and Albion were falling apart but no penalty for us.
The officiating was completely inconsistent: we deliberately
knock on in our 22 - yellow, they do exactly the same thing - no
       yellow.
And then there was the penalty at the end which he awarded to us
(in kicking range) and reversed his decision. I can't help
wondering if this had anything to do with the touch judge who
was chuntering aggressively at our technical area in the first
       half?
A lot of the players looked dejected as they left the pitch: it
was really good to watch Isaac with a group of Plymouth's kids
at the end - pretending to race them, signing autographs, etc.
They loved him. Takes some doing after the way the game panned
out. Speaking to Harvey afterwards, he said that the Rosslyn
Park result brought a few smiles back to faces. Well done all.

I think that some of the kicks worked well and generated
pressure but I also think that many of the kicks just gave the
ball back to Plymouth, who were very good at holding onto to
possession. Its a great weapon when used tactically and executed
as required but it can also be wasteful. I thought that we
kicked too much possesion away but we were capable of good
tactical kicking as exemplified by the last try we scored and
not forgetting Hayes's sublime crossfield kick to Shaw. I was
almost directly behind Lloyd in the stand and I thought it was a
mightly impressive punt and well taken by Isaac.
Hopefully we can bounce back against Rams in another tough
       fixture!

Who was the referee for this game?
I couldn't make trip to Plymouth this year, but did last year.
The exact same thing happened in that game, the referee gave
everything to Plymouth but very little to the Titans.
I was standing next to a Plymouth supporter who could not
believe the amount of decisions going against the Titans.
I know it makes no effect on Saturdays result but was just
       curious?
Unfortunately it's history now and I am still upset at the final
result, hard luck guys, great effort away at Plymouth..

       Thanks Winger 14.
It was just a thought seeming that there was a lot of
       similarities in the refereeing.
Must have been another anti Titans referee.

       Match report from Plymouth website
"Match Report sponsored by Relationships Plymouth.
Plymouth Albion Edge Rotherham Titans in Dramatic One-Point
       Victory
In an incredible game of rugby in National League One, Plymouth
       Albion scraped a one-point victory against top-of-the-league
Rotherham Titans in a masterclass of scoreboard management.
Despite the hideous conditions at the Brickfields ground, a
crowd of 1,939 watched Albion edge the thrilling contest 22-21.
       First Half
The opening half was a scrappy affair, with the harsh weather
conditions at Brickfields affecting both sides. Albion began the
brighter of the two, probing the top-of-the-league Rotherham
Titans but failing to land the killer blow, with lineout issues
       and knock-ons halting promising attacks.
The first points didn’t come until the 13th minute, when Iwan
Jenkins slotted a long-range penalty to give Albion a 3-0 lead.
Almost immediately after the restart, Rotherham showcased why
they are the best in the league, exploiting the blind side off a
maul and racing over for a score in the corner, expertly
converted by Titans fly-half Lloyd Hayes.
The scrappiness of the affair resumed with both teams conceding
a slew of penalties before Rotherham struck again through Isaac
Shaw, who collected a cross-field kick to stretch the lead to
3-14. Albion, however, managed to wrestle back momentum in the
closing stages of the half, repeatedly turning pressure into
points through Jenkins’ reliable boot. His penalties reduced the
deficit to 5 at the break, with the Titans leading 14-9.
       Second Half
As the second half got underway, it was clear that the half-time
message focused on the lack of open-field kicking. Jenkins began
to utilise the old faithful up-and-under to good effect in the
       swirling conditions.
Despite ongoing struggles at their own lineouts, Albion managed
to maintain pressure on the Titans throughout the match, forcing
them to work hard for every metre. Scrum time proved especially
fruitful for Plymouth; despite the Titans’ clear size advantage,
they were unable to capitalise on it, with Albion repeatedly
       winning penalties and free kicks.
Ten minutes into the half, Jenkins added yet another penalty as
Rotherham’s discipline began to slip, with offsides and
breakdown infringements piling up. Shortly after, Plymouth
finally showed their style of running rugby, as a huge break
down the left side of the field left a four-on-one and what
looked like a certain try. The cover defence of Rotherham
managed to stop the attack, but illegally so, as full-back Isaac
Price was deemed to have intentionally knocked the ball down and
was therefore sent to the sin bin.
Shea Cornish attacking the Rotherham back line
Despite an opportunity to take the three points on offer to
retake the lead, Albion were in search of more, kicking to the
corner. The ensuing maul failed to make any ground, but a superb
flat cross-field kick Captain Jack Oulton was pounced on by Shea
Cornish for Plymouth’s first try of the game. The conversion off
Jenkins’ boot took the score to 19-14.
Rotherham responded clinically. A penalty which was kicked to
the corner set up a driving maul which they managed to bundle
over the line, and Hayes’ conversion nudged them back in front
by two. A mistake from the restart, which went straight out on
the full, threatened to put Albion under more pressure; however,
they won yet another free kick off the midfield scrum, which was
       taken quickly and kicked downfield.
From the lineout, Albion built more consecutive phases than they
had managed all game before a booming high ball was sent up and
once again claimed in the air by Albion. Titans conceded yet
another penalty from the following ruck, gifting Iwan Jenkins
the opportunity to restore Plymouth’s lead.
With no time left on the clock, Albion defended ferociously,
putting in huge hits on the big men of Rotherham. A searching
kick in behind was safely gathered by Albion, who were able to
retain possession long enough for Jenkins to send the ball into
the Eric Johns stand and secure a famous victory.
Final score: Plymouth Albion 22-21 Rotherham Titans.
Captain Jack Oulton talks to the team after a huge win at
       Brickfields.
Man of the Match: Jake Clemson
It was a fantastic performance from the flanker, who seemed to
be everywhere on the pitch. Reflecting on the win, he credited
       the team’s preparation:
“We put the work in all week and everything we wanted to do came
       out on the pitch today.”
Iwan Jenkins, who scored 17 of the team’s points off the tee,
       put it simply:
“In those situations you’ve got to stick to your process, and
that’s what I did, but credit to the rest of the team for
putting us in the right position, getting the penalty out of
them, and I just follow with my job.
Iwan Jenkins with a clutch kick to win the game at the death"
       Will Porter"
