Match Day Pie and other food

The Club has published the following on their SM channels:
HTML https://www.facebook.com/877919065628030/posts/1872681972818396/
For those without FB:
We’ve been reading your comments on social media regarding the
food on offer on match days, and we are planning to make some
changes for our next home game.
The price of beef has risen by about 4% in the last year. This
means it is costing us a lot more to produce our match-day pie,
so the price did go up this season. We have also changed to
steak and potato rather than just steak, again due to costs. We
will increase the portion sizes from next home game and we will
bring back fat chips, not serve the skinny fries!
People said the chilli was good – do you want another option to
go with chips or baked potatoes? We want to provide good food,
at a fair price, but we do need your feedback if we get it
wrong. If you’re not happy, please tell us, on the day, or later
on by email, rather than just on social media. If we don’t know,
we can’t fix it! Gill and Janet, and all the catering team, want
to get it right.
Email: gill@titans-rugby.com or janet@titans-rugby.com
We value the support for our club, not just on the field, but in
the bar and by purchasing match-day food. It all helps to keep
the club going.
Hope that helps the debate!

A quick and positive reply from the Club. I can appreciate
that the cost of goods rise, and I don't mind paying a bit more
for the food to help towards this. If they go back to serving
'Proper' chips and if I order Pie' Chips and Peas they are in
the larger tray, Then that's me satisfied.

Yes, sounds like things will get more back to normal.
I did email the club earlier in the week to let them know that
all was not well with the match day catering.

It is good that the club has responded, but the maths are not
too good, 4% on the price is about 16p on a £4.00 pie but if you
remove half the meat your quids in !
The trouble with meat and potato is you might not get any
meat, that appears to have been the case ! but as I said it is a
proactive reply so we will just see how it goes !
What about Pie and a pint £5 ?

Some time since we had £4 pies, WR. £5 now, I think. So £5 for
a pie and a pint would be getting the beer for free. Not sure
that's going to happen.

Silly me ! Maybe the club has look down other roots regards
catering, you can get a cracking steak pie in Iceland and many
other outlets for £2 which would do at least three portions ? ie
67p a portion, ok it’s not home made, but somebodies made it !
the club might make more profit down this route ?

Whiterhino
On Oct 14, on this Forum, you stated----- "Don't use the
clubhouse anymore, haven't done for YEARS". So your
experience of food in the Club must be non existent. The last
time we had Pie brought in from an outside source ( Pukka Pies )
there was nearly a riot.
The food in the Club, considering it's one of the ways that we
put money into the Club, is very good. I didn't enjoy the thin
fries last Saturday, or that my meal was served in a small
container, but the Club have said that this will be put right.
I've enjoyed having my "Dinner" in the Club for many, many
years, and HOPE too for years to come.
