I couldn't make it to the game tonight, but it's great to read
that the squad had another very good workout. Another 8 Try's
scored shows that they know the way to the Try Line.
Another good game and scoreline next Friday will add to the
confidence that must be building throughout the squad.

The game was much more competitive than the score line suggested
? After conceding a sloppy first try Rotherham broke away and
scored two try’s from our Aussie Winger, three more followed
although we weren’t dominating the ball, but at this stage it
looked all over !
Second half began and Sheffield knocked us back and put us on
the back foot, before the very techy Zak Poole dove over and
scored, he was a slimmed down version of the one we had ! and
was well up for the game. Sheffield pack looked quite a bit
bigger than ours but somehow we also ended pushing them
backwards ! The extra intensity shown by Sheffield in the second
half with very hard running and slick passing eventually was
matched and then surpassed by Rotherham who had to raise their
standards to compete. Some very slick try’s followed with the
second half full back looking very dangerous and a player that
stands out amongst some excellent new players. Another new
player appeared in the second half, an Aussie apparently and
played stand off and took over kicking duties despite fooling us
by wearing the number nine shirt ! We have definitely recruited
some pace and match winners this season but I also think the
very large squad will bring its own problems ?

In friendly games are yellow and red cards not acted upon?
Sheffield were given a yellow card and a red card but 15 players
remained on the pitch the pitch. ???

Two big statement wins in our first 2 pre season games.
I couldn’t make last night but it sounds like a good game.
I would have thought we will pushing up the top end of the
league again this season but as we know this is a very tough
league and anything can happen.
I can’t wait for the season to kick off. Well done to the club
for putting together another fantastic squad.
I have to say it is the happiest I have been as a Roth fan for a
long time. This last couple of years have been amazing!

Yes they were allowed to keep 15 players on the pitch at all
time despite their indiscretions !

Swifty said that we allowed them to play 15; it would have been
a less meaningful test for us if they were a man down.
Great to watch. Jackson Barling has got some pace, hasn't he?
Isaac Shaw looks full of potential at full back .
Hope Cory Teague is ok.
