Great to get our first win of the season. Not sure why once the
game had been won we kept going for 3 points and not looking for
4 tries and the chance to get the bonus point. Very
interesting to see Oid Elthamiams beat Darlington 31 - 22 today.
Who would have predicted that.

I see your point Rucko but I think they probably wanted to
ensure we got the win by keeping the points ticking over and
getting the ball back from the penalty kicks. It keeps control
of the game. We never really got our maul going today or in the
previous 2 games so at the moment we can't rely on that as a way
to score. The kicks were the safe option and probably the right
one today as the win gets our season started. You saw towards
the end of the game that we were getting really fired up and
starting pushing / holding them back which are real positives to
take away from the game. They looked very good in the last 15.
We just need to string some performances together. A couple of
wins on the trot and we will be in a good position.

I understand what you mean about the 4 tries but I was pleased
we went for the Kicks. The teams were notas far apart as the
score suggests - Rosslyn were big and tough with some dangerous
players. The kicking gained us a lot of points was it 24?
However at one point they had 5 kickable penalties. Went for
touch each time and came away with 5 points. We had 6 kicked for
goal and dolly superb we scored 18 points. This made a massive
difference in what was otherwise a very tough and hard fought
game. Rotherham played really really well and I could not
believe the transformation. Very big signs that the coaching and
gelling is having a big impact.

Great game today and once we stopped their rolling maul they had
nothing to offer, all the lads put in a great shift. and gave me
a great birthday present. Our No 14 was my man of the match as
he caught every one of the high balls that were sent up for him
to chase and gave us great front foot ball.
Very happy bunny tonight.

There were a few. The referee was very much in charge - lots of
whistling for technical stuff. A couple of his signals, I have
never seen before so I have no idea what they were for. Overall,
it felt that our penalty count was much better. They gave a lot
away as they ran out of steam; a real testament to the strength
and conditioning work done pre-season.

Good report and yes Anton Petrowitsch did play really well.
Pacey and put himself around with a huge work rate.
