Rumours on the Internet that Worcester are joining the
Championship / premier 2 which will be 14 teams. Also some
interesting comments regarding their coach. Wonder if anyone has
heard anything official rather than rumour?

Good to know but it has caused a stir with quite a few posting
about it. Think it might crop up a few more times before it
settles then.

If this is anywhere near true the whole thing stinks. It’s also
all over the Worcester Sportnetwork site as well as X.
Sweeney saying a decision not been made but why would a Rugby
Correspondent from Planet Rugby post this (yesterday)? No point
keeping low key. It’s out there. The guy on X is James While.

As said above, everything is just rumours at this moment in
time, of which I certainly hope are not true.
I just don't see how Worcester can all of a sudden become a
sustainable and viable club. They should be made to start at the
bottom of the Pyramid as London Welsh were.
I assume the same will happen for London Irish and Wasps should
they come up with a 'plan' Does this mean teams from the Champ /
Prem 2 will be relegated to make way?
Where were the RFU when Wakefield and Orrell went bust?

It was their comments re people supposedly joining them that
concerned me. It would be more fair to promote national 1 teams
to create the 14 and make others work for it if they want to
return. Just like the rest of us.

Nothing is set in stone and I do believe it is complete
speculation. Worcester are not a club at the moment. They went
bust, have debts and will need a monumental amount of money to
get going again.
I wouldn't worry about it at all, they have a heck of a long way
to go before appointing a coach.
There ex players are un paid - will they have to honour the old
contracts? I would hope so.
They need a miracle. They weren't sustainable before, they won't
be now.
On the other side, we are on the upward trajectory, we have a
brilliant squad, fantastic club and staff, awesome supporters
(best in the world) everything down to our social media presence
has dramatically improved. We are in a great position in a
fantastic league. The Champ may look like a better prospect if
expanded to 14 teams. There is ambition. Let's not worry and see
what pans out.
