The club obviously knew about this problem and I expect there’s
a background to which we aren’t party to. I’m going to turn up
st the lane on Saturday and expect we’ll play. Apparently the
pitch has been marked out.

Just seen this on the Cricket Club Twitter Site
On Monday evening at approximately 10pm a white saloon car
entered the playing surface at Clifton Lane. The vehicle at
relative high speed did several circles all over the cricket
outfield / rugby field in what appeared to be a clear attempt to
do damage according to witnesses at the rugby club. The
vandalism of our outfield and the rugby field is an attack
against sport and we should do all we can to stamp this out,
your vigilance and information regarding these vandals would be
appreciated.
Does this look like someone trying to damage the rugby pitch? Or
the cricket pitch?
Whoever they are I hope they catch them.

A Cricket supporter damaging the Rugby field, or a Rugby
supporter damaging the Cricket outfield, or just a case of
sheer vandalism
It's a mystery, so we need to send for DCI Banks, Vera,
Lewis and Poirot. This needs investigating ASAP.
This doesn't look like targeting a particular sport. I don't
know how bad the damage is but if it's bad, then it could
result in neither Club playing a game on Saturday.
If it was an attack on the Cricket Club, it would have made more
sense to damage the playing area (Wicket).
Whatever the problems between the two Clubs, this incident is a
total disgrace, and I hope the culprits are caught.

Here, here, Can't imagine any supporter of either code doing
anything like this as they are both true sports fans. Whoever it
is I hope they get caught and dealt with severely.

If I were an Old Elthamian and I’d arranged a train from London
to watch the match I’d be pretty peed off. A statement should be
made tonight about what is going to happen.

I can echo this. Have been viewing this thread with some
surprise. Not what I expected from a big club dropping down to
our level. I believe the OEs team is travelling up on Friday.
Hope the venue is confirmed soon. We have been looking forward
to our first ever meeting with the Titans.

Been in for season tickets today and it was confirmed that game
will be played at Clifton Lane, club will be issuing statement,
or so I was told.
