I was pleased with what I saw today. The unknowns for me are
I am not sure about the overall standard of National 1 and how
this compared. It held up against the National 1 games I have
seen but that is a limited number.
I am not sure in a run out of this nature that the team were
playing full on.
I am hopeful, on this outing, for a decent position in the
league.
looking forward.

Well said Setter, there's Positives and Negatives in every
game, look for the Positives its those that carry you forwards
and win games. This was the first Run-Out against opposition,
so expectations should not have been set too high.
We should be looking for a better performance against Nottingham
(depends on what strength of team they turn out) and hopefully a
strong and competent game against Wharfedale. Whatever the
results are in those games, we'll still have to wait to see how
our match day squad of 20 perform in our first League game,
before we get any idea regarding our progress.
After the first six games of the season, we should have a pretty
good idea of how our season could pan out.
From the National One Forum ----- In National One a team starts
with 5 players on the bench, but can make upto 10 interchanges
during the game.

Seb was stand out player for me.
9s looked sharp
Locks looked uncompromising
Some of back rowers mainly German and Chilean looked very raw
talent who could improve a huge amount and very quickly.
ho*ker is solid
Stoutey looked the fittest I’ve ever seen and Bergmanus looks
like a really solid player.
I concentrated more on the pack but the huge wing/centre
Connor,Fullback Irvine and other wing Leake were very good.
The last was impressive under a high ball.
Thanks for kind words re Paddy, he’s still a long way to go.
When junior section was set up he was one of 3 who turned up
aged 6.
Crap facilities waterlogged pitch strewn with dog muck and glass
but he stuck with it.
Look at Herringthorpe now, the best facility in SY.
Thanks to many who do it all for free.
Paddy has captained every age group and had many heavy losses
along the way.
Under Coy JD and Trueman he has at last seen success gaining
promotion last season.
You can’t bottle what those guys have but it does rub off on
you.
Paddy will be back Training with them tomoz
The Skinny Little **** as JD calls him will be brought back down
to Earth.

Joe started as a 10, before moving to centre then 7, then back
to centre. Played for the knights at 10,made a good job of it.

Joe's certainly one of our stand out players. He'd be solid
and dependable wether at 10 or 12.
It will be interesting to see how many times he plays this
session.

Do we know why Jamie Cook did not play; is he injured? Or just
coaching?

Jamie had an operation on his right foot about five weeks ago,
won't be long before he is back.

That's good news, it would be a big loss if Jamie wasn't
playing. Towards the end of last season he made an impact on
the way we played, he's big, strong and a line breaker.

Agreed winger! Jamie will be a key player for us this year
getting us on the front foot.
