Well,
We were all hoping Fylde would beat Leeds and they have. The
title is now in our hands.
We have done everything we can to be in the position we are in
now, the whole team have been absolutely awesome.
Win or loose this is the most enjoyable, entertaining and
enthralling season in years.
It is the most together squad in years. You can feel the team
spirit, ambition and drive.
Thank you to the club for working so hard behind the scenes,
showing us such ambition, achieving success and bringing in a
new era for the club and fans.
The coaching team have been amazing, I hope and pray that they
stay with us.
We have something very special.
Thank you Rotherham Titans

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves as there are still two fixtures
we have to navigate in order to come out in pole position.
Neither of them will be easy. Both of them are away against
clubs who would love to ruin our centenary season. Sheffield
Tigers have a number of players who used to play for us and have
proved difficult to beat on their home turf. Billingham have as
much riding on the final fixture as us. If the loose and Hull
Ionians win their match against Huddersfield they will be
relegated.

Didn't Billingham beat Wharfedale last week?

I think Tigers beat Wharfedale not long ago too. So neither
match is a foregone conclusion.

I definitely think that the biggest danger that we don't get
promoted is that we think we've already achieved it!

Thankfully what is in our favour, is that even if Leeds gain a
Bonus Pt Win in their last game, we don't have to chase Bonus
Pts in our games, we simply need to Win them.
But I'm sure that our Lads will go out to score has many points
as possible in both games.

As a Donny supporter I’ve been following this title race all
season and a question has kept popping up in my head - are Roth
and Leeds fans getting more enjoyment out of seeing meaningful
matches every week but at a lower level, as oppose to seeing a
better standard of rugby but going nowhere fast in the
Championship?. N2N looks a great league to be in from afar.
More local games, a regular pattern of home matches throughout
the season. and generally a more care-free style of play.
Of course I wouldn’t want the Knights to be relegated, but I do
wonder what the actual purpose of being in the Championship is?.
What is there to aim for?.
Anyway I think Roth will get the job done over the next couple
of weeks - having waited so long for Leeds to slip up they can’t
go and blow it now. I think with the team you have you will be
more than competitive in ND1 next year if you get there.

Hi Donnyknightslad. I know what you mean and the championship is
a mixed blessing at the moment. Something has to change. At the
moment if there was a national 1 North and south that would be
brilliant IMHO. It has been a fantastic season of exciting rugby
and I have really enjoyed my Saturdays. Good luck to all at the
Knights.

I totally agree with what Jim has posted about having 2 Leagues
at National 1. One of the pleasures of this season has been the
able to follow the team each weekend and visit clubs that are
within 2 hours of Rotherham. If the team does get promoted at
the present time there are possibly 4 teams within the same
radius. We will also be subjected to numerous away fixtures as
far apart as Plymouth and numerous trips to the London area.
Unfortunately I will not be following them each weekend which
for me will detract from the pleasure I have experienced this
year. Yes I want close and competitive matches and I am sure
there are enough teams north of Leicester to make this possible.
A possible list of 12 would include :
Birmingham , Sedgley Park, Darlington, Sale, Leicester Lions,
from National 1
Caldy and Cambridge from the Championship
Rotherham, Leeds, Sheffield, Wharftdale, Fylde
