I didn't make any notes Malc, but there was a back row from
Jersey (got MOM against us last year??), 10/15 from Wharfedale
and a prop from somewhere. all other names are being dripped out
via the Advertiser
3/4 still to sign, all forwards.

I’m abroad so couldn’t go. What’s the use of a website if no
info on it. I’m disappointed by club’s attitude to loyal
supporters.

As regards the website Jenks has made it clear before now that
the main avenue fur information will be via the Advertiser then
the website.
Jamie Cook is staying and will double up as Strength and
Conditioning coach.
Jack McManus from Donny.
Callum Irvine from Leeds ( who are going semi pro apparently)
I think the guy from Jersey’s first name is Seb....
Jenks reiterated the fact that we’ve now lost £600,000 funding
from the RFU. However, there has been a massive response from
local business, we now have more sponsorship money committed
than this time last season.
Strict rules regarding when we can play, it MUST be on a
Saturday with KO between 2:00 and 3:00 pm. Unless agreed by
both clubs and RFU!!
The plan is to recruit young, ambitious players who want to move
up to a higher level, with a core of locals. Want to move back
to the old Rotherham principals of a hard working, tightly
bonded team. The plan is to put pressure on the opposition and
play the game ‘in their half’.
Even though part time, the players will be having as many
training sessions as full timers. Tuesday and Thursday evening
plus Saturday mornings.

I’ve got to say that Jenks puts an amazing amount into our club
and just imagine how much stress last season caused him.
I like the ethos we are now trying to build and hope success
follows.
For me top 6 would be a start.

Thanks for that Kev, very informative. I've looked at
Wharfdales website and see that Tom Barrett was there last
season. I've read that we're signing a '10' from them, I
hope its Tom, he's one of the best "10s" we've had in recent
years. Also noticed that Joel Gill is there, I wouldn't mind
seeing him back at the Lane.

Agree with what you say about our 3 re-signings, all good
dependable players.
Getting more exciting now, I might have to have a drive down to
Rotherham on Friday, just to get an Advertiser.
Was anything said about the size of the squad we are having.
I know it's said we've signed over 20 players, with 3 / 4 more
to come, but I would have thought that 35 would be a minimum,
unless we will be having Loan / DR's coming when needed.
When looking at Wharfdales 1st Team squad for last season, it
showed 59 players ?

Jamie Cook is a great retention, he will get us over the gain
line. Brandon Palmer and Joe Barker are both solid. Looking
forward to hearing the rest of the signings.
