It is really sad and also worrying for Rugby. I hope something
resolves to allow Jersey to continue. My thoughts are with the
club and their fans.

It is sad, but why have they " stopped trading ", because they
have run out of money. Why have they run out of money, because
they have been paying out far more money than they had coming
in. I know nothing about their situation but this is the
obvious reason.
Not so long ago Jersey where talking about making the effort to
get into the Premiership, and last season they were close to
making it, but they must have known that however we'll they did
they would not be accepted into the " Elite Club ". If they had
been promoted they would have been Slaughtered every week and
come back down demoralised and broken. The same will happen to
Ealing if they ever manage to attain promotion.
We chased the Impossible dream twice, and attained it twice,
but instead of finding a Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow
we nearly found annihilation.
We survived and are now, in my opinion, in a good position.
Getting into Division One, YES. Chasing the impossible dream
again, NO.
FIND A LEVEL AND BE CONTENT WITH IT

Good to read that someone has stepped in to pay the September
salaries for all the Clubs Staff, that's a massive gesture.
I hope that they can survive, they've gone out of business, and
with how much debt. They must have Creditors who need to be
payed, at least something. Do they owe anything to the Tax Man,
that's always the most demanding creditor to be satisfied.
Their League will commence soon, will they have any Players if
there's No Money to pay them.
The RFU won't help them out, and why should they, they didn't do
much to save the other Clubs who have gone the same way. For
them to carry on its going to take a lot of Money being put into
the Club, and Guarantees made to the RFU, over a Very Short
period of time. IF there were people willing to put Money into
the Club, then surely they would have done it before the Clubs
situation became so dire.
What plans do the RFU have for the Future of the Championship,
as it stands I would say NONE. They won't be putting anymore
money into it, there's more chance of them cutting further the
amount they give to each Club. With the exception of Ealing, I
don't know how many Clubs in the Championship are still Fully
Professional. If there are I can't see them staying that way
for much longer.

Sadly looks like it’s over for Jersey. Championship clubs are
just living a completely nomadic existence at the moment. We
don’t know anything about what the league is going to look like
going forward. Are the RFU going to put more funding into it?.
Is the Premiership 1 and 2 model coming in?. Will there even be
a realistic pathway to promotion in the future?, How are they
going to alleviate the shortfall this season with losing one
home game?.
In answer to Winger14 about professional clubs in the
Championship, I believe now Jersey have gone, that there are
only 4 professional teams in the league - Ealing, Donny, Pirates
and Coventry. The noises you hear from Pirates are that they
could go part-time soon if there’s no progress on a new stadium.
So the picture isn’t looking good.
I just think unless there is a genuine chance of getting
promoted, and being on an equal footing to the Premiership clubs
when you get there. there is little point in chasing the
“impossible dream” and potentially crippling your club in the
process. Welsh tried and failed, Leeds tried and failed, Roth
tried and failed, and Worcester clung on longer but ultimately
failed.
The Championship at the moment is a poisoned chalice that you
are better off out of.
