Any idea where the home game against Durham will be played, I
assume it won’t be at The Lane because of the cricket

Really Guernsey away ? I thought we have gone to localised
rugby to cut down on travel cost ?

@rucko, I believe that it will be at Clifton Lane as it will be
       a Friday night fixture.

The Cricket Clubs last games to be played at Clifton Lane, are
       Saturday August 19th 1st X1
       Saturday August 26th 2nd X1
       Monday August 28th 2nd X1
       Saturday September 9th 1st X1
Wil the Cricket Club want us playing there when they will still
have 3 games to play after our game against Durham Univ.
Their Outfield takes up a Large Part of our Pitch.
Also our first Home game is one week before the Cricket Clubs
       1st X1 last Home game.
I don't know whats going to happen, maybe there's plenty of
negotiating being done between the Clubs, or maybe it's already
       been done.

We should remain positive, I'm sure that the Club will be doing
all that is possible. Maybe it will make a difference with it
being a Second X1 game. We do have a better Rapport now with the
Cricket Club who have helped us out in the past.
Whether we play our game at Clifton Lane or on Herringthorpe
playing fields we need a GOOD turnout to show the Lads the best
       support possible.
Wherever we play the Clubhouse will be open so it will be a good
       day.

The first " Friendly " game and we start with a very good Win.
I thought that this was very good to watch, we scored six Try's
against Opposition in the same League level as us.
The Forwards were excellent and certainly showed their strength
pushing Newports Pack backwards time after time.
I know the game was fractured with the changing over of Players
but it showed that whichever 15 was on the field, they played as
       a team.
An highlight of the game for me the appearance of Matt Smith,
       great to see him back.
Five Try's scored by the Forwards and One from Callum Bustin (
       Forward / Back ), Lloyd kick 5 out of 6 Conversions. Let's
hope that he carries this form into the League games.
The Backs showed some good movement and quick passing, on this
showing there's lots of promise there.
Good to see young Kareem (9) playing well, I thought that he
might be leaving the Club, we need two good Scrum-Halfs.
Only the first game but it shows great promise for the season
       ahead.

Sounds like a good performance, particularly for our first run
out. Good to see we are facing competition in our tier of Rugby
which gives us a better idea of where we are. Penalties have
been an issue for a while now so I hope we can get that resolved
before the start of the season.
This is a very tough and competitive league, this season will
arguably be more competitive at the top than last so we need to
be extremely stringent in our discipline. You really can't
afford to make to many mistakes or promotion will slip away very
       quickly.
Last season we just picked up too many losses too soon which
really put a stop to any form of promotion campaign, however
when the new head coach came in we really improved and finished
the season strong. Hopefully we can carry this into the new
season. Sedgley lost 1 game and drew 1 game - this shows just
how together we are going to have to be if we are to get
promoted. 2 early losses and you are really on the back foot.
The squad looks great, stronger than last. We have a good
platform up front in the pack to get us the upper hand and we
have the backs who can score points across the park. 2 good
kickers this year in Lloyd Hayes and Will Milner, quality
wingers and centres that can make gaps.
I couldn't make it on Friday but I am looking forward to the
       next home pre season game.
       Come on Roth!
