Nick and Martin should be celebrated - who else would or could
have done what they have done. they will be feeling this ten
fold. The negatives should stay quiet on this one as we can't
afford them walking away. I think national 1 will be the shot we
need for a bounce back. Keep the faith.

       I missed today's game has I was at my Daughter-in-Laws 50th
Birthday do. My afternoon was very enjoyable, obviously better
       than being at Headingley.
My support for the Titans will never diminish, but I now accept
that we are going to be relegated. Any points we pick up from
now on, will be like Sprinkles falling on an un-iced cake.
We need to start planning for next season now. Our current
squad are Paid full-time professionals, so how many will want to
stay is anybody's guess, as is how many of them will be wanted
       by other Clubs.
If we do carry on next season, then there is a lot of planning
to be done, the first being the Financial aspect. Where will
the money we will need come from. How much does it cost to rent
the Lane, and run the Clubhouse, will our current Sponcors stay
with us, how many Supporters will stay, and most importantly
will Nick and Martin stay. If they don't, will others step
       forwards.
If we have a Semi-Pro squad, what work could we offer them in
and around Rotherham. I'm sure we would attract players, but
       of what quality.
Anyway we may as well make the best of what we've got, and
support the Club to the end of this season.
I suppose that if we do, by a fantastic stretch of the
imagination, embark on a winning run, then although I believe
that God is a fairy tale and figment of man's imagination, a
tiny, tiny bit at the back of my brain might suddenly think, I
       WONDER. :o

Completely agree about building for next year now. I think there
are a handful of players I would like to keep who I think would
do well in Nat 1. As someone said before we beat Cov at the
start of the year so if we can hold onto as many of our first
choice match day squad then we will have a great place to start.
Maybe another look at the semi pro model is where we need to go.
I believe we were semi pro in Andre Besters first term as head
coach and it seems to be working for Richmond, Hartpury and
Bedford. Get back to winning ways next year with more regular
home games and we may also see an improvement in crowds again.
I hope our directors can give us another season but if they want
out I can only thank them for what they have done for us!

Firstly I also have to comment about Nick and Martin, as we
simply would not have survived without them; end of. Their
support over the years cannot be underestimated, they are both
well-off but by no means very wealthy men and don't have the
finances that it takes to push for honours so we can't thank the
       guys enough.
As for 'bouncing back' I would love to look at Donny and Cov and
see how they stabilised and improved, but, as has already been
mentioned they aren't short of a bob or two - we are simply not
in the same league financially. They both have far better
set-ups than we have and the commercial arms of each club are
       thriving.
Whilst not wanting to be negative, I fear a fate similar to the
likes of Sedgley Park, maybe even Manchester. Who knows though,
maybe a Fairy Godmother may come and save us.

A Fairy Godmother may come to save us, Oh no she won't, Oh yes
       she will.
It's certainly the time of year to wish for her help. It's
going to be a worrying and uncertain time between now and the
end of the season. Nick, Martin and others who put money into
the Club, will be doing a lot of soul searching between now and
the point it becomes obvious that we will be relegated. At some
point after relegation is confirmed, the Club will have to
inform the RFU of their intentions for next season. Nick and
Martin are not the sort of people who would walk away from the
Club easily, or without a great deal of regret, if they were,
they could have walked away 2 or 3 times in the last 13 seasons.
Some of the criticism of them, from certain posters, has at
times been over the top, possibly from people who have no idea
of the Professional and Personal strain this has had on them,
and their finances, to keep the Club in business. Wether I have
agreed with all of their decisions, or not, I applaud them for
making them. Whatever decisions they make for next season will
be the best for them, and hopefully for the Club.
This Club (RRUFC), has been since 1960, is now, and always will
be, my Club until it no longer exists.
However results go between now and the end of the season, I
would like to see the Coach's and Players give their all in
       every game.
Depending on results, it won't be easy, but I would still like
to see good support from the sidelines.
Supporting the Club at this time, is just like what will happen
in the next hour, we don't know until it happens. Until then
let's keep a smile on our face's, make the best of our
situation, and have a DOUBLE JAMESONS, or two.

       I just poured myself a Jameson’s before I opened your post. I
totally agree about some of the ridiculous criticism of the
directors. I’m surprised they’ve lasted so long. I think better
coaching could have made some difference to this season. Some of
the kicking out of hand has been ridiculous and defence could be
       better!
I hope we can get a competitive side together for next season.
If we could keep the core of this team it’d we good

I'll guarantee we'll both get through at least two bottles each
before this season is over. If our losing run continues, I'd
hate to think what my Liver will be like come May. :o
