With today’s results winning the league is going to be a very
tall order

Sedgley Park 25 Rotherham 17
Fylde 43 Wharfedale 3
Otley 28 Preston Grasshoppers 15
Sheffield RUFC 19 Hull Ionians 29
Sheffield Tigers 16 Harrogate RUFC 10
Tynedale 14 Chester 21

They scored while down to 14 men at 18-17 and we missed touch on
two occasions with penalties in great positions.
Badly missing Hayes.
It seems we get turned over possession & penalties on a regular
basis when on their line, yet the opposition is more clinical.
Three defeats already and down to 5th ( now also behind Otley
and Ionians whilst 13 and 11 points behind Fylde & Sedgley Park
respectively) so I think promotion is already gone.

If we go on a streak now and don't loose another game then we
can still win. I believe Hull did similar last season however I
agree. We have just lost to many games too early. Means our room
for error is tiny now.
Hull only lost 4 last year teams seem to only get promotion
with about a max of 4 to 6 losses depending on the season.
It's not over yet but Flyde and Sedgley are definitely in the
driving seat.
Still, there are many good games to come and we are playing some
good rugby this year.
Keep going lads!

Again we were not far adrift
Our forwards had theirs beat. Line-out struggled again and we
made costly mistakes - turnovers on their line and two missed
penalties to touch. This lost us yards
So small margi s going to others
Looking at our fixtures I can see us winning the next 6 and May
build from there
Promotion not out of sight yet but can't afford anymore slipups
now

I’m sure others who attend regularly over the years have noticed
that we have a habit of conceding within a few minutes of
scoring. Not an effective strategy.

Not downhearted
We might not win the league but it is competitive with good
sides. We will be competing top 3 at the end of the season and
might win the league
Either way it makes for good Saturday afternoons

Reflecting on the game, I can thiink of 4 things that
potentially could have changed the course of the game and the
outcome and we would have had 5 points
That's how close the margins are. We will be up there with the
top 3 come the end of the season. Looking forward to
Huddersfield now.

Close game. We were competitive throughout, in what could be the
hardest game of the season. Considering that, for most of the
game, we didn't have a recognised centre on the pitch, the
defence was pretty good. Sedgeley people behind us were saying,
'We just can't break their line." Our forwards were well on top
in set scrums again.
Again, kicking and lineouts were a big issue. As has been
stated, penalties not going into touch cost us dearly. Plus not
being able to win our own lineouts consistently is a
disadvantage. And their 10 had a belter.
Impressed with Jack Taylor in particular. Put in some good
tackles, especially to say that he was not playing in his usual
position. And that try had me thinking back to one that Dave
Strettle scored.
Going to enjoy each game as it comes now. Anyone know when Lloyd
is back?
Creditable performance under the circumstances for me. Well done
all.
