21- 22 ahead at half time I thought Hull would win easily as
they were playing down the hill in the second half. However, we
monopolised the second half and I thought it would only be a
matter of time before we crossed the whitewash. However, credit
to Hull that they kept us out. Three yellow cards cost us dearly
and much more discipline is needed. Also, I felt for our young
hooker who was brought on and his first two line outs in try
scoring position went awry.

Yes I agree about the hooker not sure that was the best game to
put him in, lot of pressure on his shoulders to deliver in
strong try scoring positions. He will grow.

Disappointing result really. I think Hull lost only 4 last year.
So we can't afford too many more.
Quite surprising considering last week's performance. Really
needed to lay down a marker here.
Shame that we didn't get the result but keep at it lads.
Need to be really disciplined and tight.

Good entertaining first half from both teams. Second half Roth
looked like running away with game for first 25 minutes but
couldn't turn pressure into points. Then self destruction 3
yellow cards, indiscipline, lineouts and a bit too much kicking
possession away.Trying to charge down a penalty kick? Two of
three of our players patting Sam Pocklington on the head when he
gave away a penalty ref reversed the penalty. All in all sort
these things out and I am sure we are in for a great season.
Good pack and some exciting young players in the backs. Sam
Veall is great to watch, he had some dazzling breaks at pace
from full back. Just unlucky that the support didn't work as
well as last week. The coach will sort this out during this
week and I think we will see another good display against
Blaydon this coming weekend. Can't wait.

For me, it was just about the lineouts. It wasn't just when
Louis Inman came on; we had lost lineouts before that. We had a
line out with our throw 4 or five times in their 22 and didn't
make any of them count. If we had completed them, we would have
been out of sight and the cards wouldn't have happened. Not sure
it's the throw - the calls don't look particularly smart and we
don't really have anyone tidying up at the tail, like Spenner
used to do.
There were silly moments - the charge down and the head patting.
Without them we would have won it as well.
Shame, after such a good first half.
