Sorry winger, I meant in regards to Matti not getting enough
game time. There was a lot of quality players to contend with
this year in the back 5 which is why I would assume he has moved
to wharfdale to get more game time.
Apart from Chall I do not know who has re signed from the squad.
Hopefully as many as possible!

Shame to see Matti go but we wish him well.
I hope that his decision to leave could be because a good number
of the forwards who have kept him on the bench have re-signed
for next season?

Now that our first signings for 2022 / 23 have Officially been
announced we can say that Pre-Season has started. As in
previous seasons my excitement will slowly start to build and
will continue as more names are released and Pre-Season games
are played. Everything that happens now will lead up to our
First League Game and the commencement of our Battle for
Promotion.
After last season we should be 1st or 2nd favourites for the
Title, but we must not be complacent. We had too many close
games last season, so we must be more assertive and once in
front must increase the pressure to built our points difference.
We Won most of our games but did not pick up enough Try Bonus
Points, which as we know could be crucial at the end of the
season.
I really enjoyed last season and the standard of Rugby was very
good. Most of the Clubs in the League impressed me with both
their Standard and Style of play.
I'm sure that this season will be just as good, but hopefully
our Final League Position will be better.

As each day passes we get nearer to our first games of the
season, two away friendlies at Sale and Leeds. The squad is
almost complete and the players who have been named already give
us high hopes for the seasons start. I'm really pleased with the
signing of our " New Player " Gareth Denman. He has gained lots
of experience since he last played for the Titans and this could
prove crucial for us, particularly in tight games.
I would love to see the names of a few ' Nippy ' Backs on our
squad list, our Backs played well last season but in too many
games we failed, or at least struggled, to break through the
Opposition's defensive line.
I believe that signed Players names will be released quicker
now, hopefully all before Training begins, as some supporters go
along to watch at Training sessions, so no names will be '
secret ' then.
I'm, once again, really pleased to see the amount of money
pouring into the Titans Foundation daily, this is a massive
boost for the Fantastic Work that they do.

I posted on the Squad list that I'd like to see Matt Smith
re-signed as a Player / Forwards Coach. I've just looked at
the short clip of the Lads Training and it looks like Matt is
certainly helping with the coaching session ?.
It looks like Matt has a slight limp, hope he will be OK to
play come the first game.

Just to answer your comment about Matt and the first game
Winger. Smithy has had two significant operations on his knee,
the most recent being 6 weeks ago to reconstruct his anterior
cruciate ligament. He is progressing very well but he is highly
unlikely to play (as previously stated in my programme notes)
until 2023 and his role is more forwards coach than player in
the immediate term.
cheers
David

If you review the video of the #300 Titans Thursday/Tuesday Matt
confirmed he wants to play again but probably won’t be back
until Christmas time.
Missed Mr Swift’s comment!

Thanks to both of you for your replies.
Happy to hear that he will be doing some Forwards Coaching and
looking forwards to see him back playing when he is Fit to do
so.

We have a squad of 28, upto now, signed on for this season, 17
Forwards and 11 Backs.
Our Forwards consist of 14 retained players and just 3 new
signings. We look strong in the Forwards even allowing for the
4 players who are working towards full fitness after suffering
serious injuries. IF these players are NOT fit for the
beginning of the season it will leave us with 13, we need 11 or
12 in a Match Day Squad.
Our Backs consist of 6 retained players and 5 new signings. We
have retained some very good players but with half of our Backs
new to the Club it will be interesting to see how they slot
together. We need 8 or 9 in a Match Day Squad.
I know nothing about our New Signings, other than Gareth Denman,
but as always I assume that the Club know about these players
and the job that they can do for us.
Also I assume that the Club will be looking at other players to
bring in. If no players are injured during the season, then 28
would be enough, but as we know from experience that isn't going
to happen.
As always I'm looking forwards to the new season with great
optimism, again we'll be aiming to finish at the Top of the
League, but as long has the Lads give their all in every game
I'll except wherever we finish.
Roll on our first game.

That was one hell of a good series Win for England. Three hard
fought games, and overall the best Team, just, Won. This series
showed that we have some very good, and young, upcoming players.
I just hope that they can carry this form through to the Autumn
Internationals, then on to the Six Nations.
It was interesting to read, before and during this series, what
some Ex Players, and a Past Head Coach (Woodward) were saying
regarding the selections made by Jones for each game. It's
sometimes better to accept that when you are " Yesterday's Men "
it's better to leave your opinions there.
This series certainly validated Jones selections and tactics.
