Group 1: E92 335i pre LCI with N54. Pick up a lower miled
specimen for say, 30k on the high side so we have a nice round
number. Rob Beck twins plus full supporting mods on meth would
run me about $7k (again, sitting on the high side to be safe).
That leaves me $3k for a set of track tires, track pads,
suspension, and HPDEs so I can take it to the track, learn how
to drive it fast around turns and in the straight parts, and
have a fairly reliable DD pushing out over 500 at the wheels.
Group 2: Tough choice. This is actually the hardest choice.
The 120k budget give me a good bit of room to work. I could go
with a custom E46 M3 turbo set up done by Saad on E85 and have
cash left over for a different set of wheels and tires (track
and street), suspension, drivetrain goodies to keep everything
from blowing up, do some free weight reduction mods, legit CSL
trunk and a few other body things. Then again, at 120 I could
also pick up an E92 M3 CPOd and do an S63 swap. Or, at this
price range, we are looking at some of the 1k+ wheel horsepower
cars, so I'm not going to say a big single Supra or TT Viper
would be off the list either. This price range also leaves open
room for a 997 Turbo plus some go fast goodies. And still,
ProEFI has been making murmurs about a twin turbo set up that
will work on the S85, and I really see no reason why I shouldn't
have a TT V10 M6. Whatever I pick for this group will always be
subject to change based on my mood and whats available, so I'm
just going to leave it as a "depends."
Group 3: Easy. Lamborghini Aventador.
