Drift Cars?

Hey guys!
I need some help here. I'm getting into the drift scene and I'd
like to start drifting. So my queston is, what cars and year
models accept a 2jz-gte in their engine nay without having to
modify the bay area? Also what engines can be similarly accepted
into the 240sx's?
I appreciate the help!

well theres a couple lexus models that come with the 2j like the
sc300 and is300 and as far as engines in a 240sx you can beef up
the existing ka24 do a sr swap and it will accept any rb series
engine and 2jz i have a buddy whose had a ka a sr a 2j a rb20
and rb25 in his s14 so all of those are possible

KA-T ftw. Cheaper and torqueier than SR. SRs are like assholes,
everyone's got one and they all blow.

sc300, gs300, is300 all these cars have 2jz's in them already
but there n/a. so gte is "bolt in" but not really just simply
wire in. And with the 2jz gte you are limited on trans choices.
you dont want an auto for drifting. all the 5 speeds that bolt
up cant hold up to the abuse and power. the 6spd getrag is big
money $$$$. best bet is just do an ls1 swap into 240. youll be
alot happier in the end. instant torque, throttle response,
consistant and reliable power output. last thing you want is
some laggy peaky power. not saying you cant build one to not be
laggy, but you have zero spool time with a v8.

Thanks again for all the help! now I would like to know more
about the ls-1 and the 240sx anything install related. also
could I use an ls-3 engine? or is it possible to swap the oil
pans on these motors?

not sure about oil pan changes, but pretty much all the ls-X
motors have some bit of interchangeability. ls1 and ls6 5.7ls
and interchange parts. ls2 is the 6.0, ls3 the 6.2l, ls7 7.0l,
ls9 supercharged 6.2l (zr1 motor). youve got the truck motors
lq9 and whatever else. the truck motors can be had with
harness's and ecu for next to nothing. the truck motors are iron
block which means they weigh more but are super strong and
durable. some of the truck motor and car motors have
interchangeable heads as well, which can bump up compression. if
i were you, go get your 240. buy some sort of swap kit, grab a
4.8L, throw in a nice healthy cam, a t56 to back it up and go to
town. the 4.8l has a shorter stroke so it'll rev out higher and
be safer at high revs. the stroked 4.8l is the 5.3, just like
5.7 to 6.0 etc... no point in spending big money on anything.
drift cars get beat up and abused. ls3 has 430hp or so which can
easily be attained with a cam, headers, and tune with any of the
other engines which is more then enough for spinning some hella
flush 245's on a 10" wheel.
