Golyadkin has arrived.

So the Lancer guys on here probably know me, but the others
probably won't.
I'm Golyadkin. Not really, but I go by that. Yakov Petrovich
Golyadkin. I happened to be reading a Dostoevsky novel when I
first signed up for an internet forum years ago, so I used the
name from the main character of the book (The Double). Since it
was one of his less popular works, no one else seems to use it.
From what I can tell, I am the only person on any forum with
this name, so if you see it, it's probably me. ;)
On to my car:
2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. Rotor Glow Orange. Very minimal
mods so far. Trying to save money for them. Modding a car with a
factory turbo is damned expensive. :(

Welcome! And if anyone is curious, dont underestimate the RA. It
pulls hard, Goly scared me that one meet we had in Longview.

Welcome. Shouldn't be that expensive to mod, unless you are
sticking with the big name brand stuff. If the Raliart is
anything like my last car (and the Raliart not being a wretched
ball of suck I doubt it is), an airbox hack job and catlessd
dp/mp should wake it up real nice. And I bet tuning is pretty
easy on those cars.
Exactly how much different is your motor from the Evo motor?
If your stock on the go fast bits I'd like to see how it runs...

Compared to the Evo X motor it's almost exactly the same, only
tuned-down. The main difference is the turbo. The stock RA turbo
is a tiny single scroll while the X is a large dual-scroll. To
give you an idea of the difference, here's the two side-by-side
(RA on the left, X on the right):

Stock, the Ralliart puts out 237/253 HP/TQ.
The mods tend to be expensive because I don't want to be one of
those people who welds a single pipe straight from the downpipe
and calls it a "custom exhaust." To me, that seems like cutting
your springs and calling it a "custom suspension." I'm willing
to pay more for quality, and willing to wait until I can afford
it to buy it (I've had the car for over a year, and the biggest
mod is the tail lights, to give you some idea of the time scale
we're talking.)
Full turbo-back exhaust with a high-flow cat is a little over
$1000 (here's a video of the exhaust note of the exhaust setup
I'm getting:

Disregard the VTA BOV there.). The intake, ICP/FMIC, etc. that
I'm doing with the engine is nearly another $1000. And the tune
is over $500, and I refuse to install anything until I can get a
tune, so what I'm doing is collecting everything until I'm ready
and getting it all done at once. But after all of that, I'll be
looking at ~300/300 AWHP/AWTQ, and that'll be good enough for
me. ;)
