Gardiner's creek

My local park has quite a number of different plants and animals
- the water itself is extremely dirty and there is litter
everywhere which is really discouraging - it seems to enter the
creek when the water levels are higher and then when they go
back down the trees are strewn with these ribbons of plastic and
there are bits of garbage everywhere. However I learned that
regardless of the dismal state of the creek itself, the
structure of Gardiner's creek functions as an important wildlife
corridor for a lot of animals anyway - like this duck.

BONUS ANIMAL: Maybe someone else can find the kookaburra in this
picture - unfortunately I can't see it anywhere but I swear it
was there, perched on one of the branches over the water. I was
with my partner who is American and has never seen a kookaburra
before so it would have been great if it had demonstrated its
iconic laugh but it didn't. Still fun to spot one close to home!
Next target is the tawny frogmouth, my personal favourite.
