       Mushrooms

       I am not the biggest fan of mushrooms :( . Something about them
       gives me the creeps - but around this time of the year (autumn)
       they are one of the aspects of my local suburban environment
       that I spot most frequently, especially on the nature strips
       beside the sidewalk. I know that they play an important
       ecological role in cycling nutrients etc. so I am trying to
       develop a more positive attitude toward spotting them - I
       learned that autumn is mushroom season because the mushrooms
       prefer the slightly cooler, wetter conditions with shorter days
       of autumn, much like I do, so I guess we have that in common.
