Yes it's a shame Steve , but I really think their over priced
and don't give value for the money they charge , simple as that
for me , a family of 4 to travel , get in. And eat , ? , years
ago the numbers were high because it didn't cost you £100 or
more. I bet if they cut the prices the attendance would be
better atb

It seems to be like a vicious circle, bad managment and greed.
Numbers decline, they put up gate costs to cover loss.
They charge traders extra coin to pitch their trade.
Traders pass the cost onto the punter.
Everyone wants a bargain and the gamefares were a place to buy
direct at a non postage cost for one.
Traders are not budging on the offers as they be losing out on
buissness.
The way the traders look at it is if punters dont buy, they can
sell the same item monday on the internet..
Its all about greed.
Thats not forgetting the entertainment.Same old entertainers in
the main areana,same show..
Why pay for a family of 4 entry into the Welsh game fare £50.My
lad was bored out of his tears because he had seen the same
attractions for 3 years..
I bought a well made leather collar for my lurcher for £12.
My lad enjoyed shooting the air rifles which fare play the
instructors on the target shooting club were well impressed with
his shot for a 6 yr old..
The future of country sports they should pay special attention
to getting newcomers into the scene.
The managment need a big shake
up..[/img][/img][/img][/img][/img][/img][/img]

Bang on mate, lower prices higher attendance in my book. Simple
to us non profit making public , the whole point of game fairs
was and still is in my eyes about promoting countrysports isn't
it ? , stop the greed and promote the fairs not your business
!!!!!

Games fairs are too expensive nowadays with the cost of entrance
fees, food and drink etc, not to mention fuel costs to travel to
some of these fairs! It becomes an very expensive day out, and
nowadays you can buy stuff online so there's no really need to
go a game fair to buy stuff or stock up on equipment.

It's always been that way up here in Scotland very few shows and
aimed at the gentry and corporate days out,the working man is
now making a stand by not attending these shows, but it's just
not the game fairs that are struggling there used to be a good
few lurcher and terrier shows a with good turnouts but numbers
dropped and the hard work of the people that run them were just
took for granted

Your right there rothers the welsh was not good but it hasnt
been for years. It used to be a grand event with the red devils
and that. But the same attractions and stalls as there was ten
years ago. They are great in there own right but they really
need to source some new ones. The guy on the motor bike will be
coming out in a wheel chair before long. Felt sorry for him
trying to jeer the crowd up but they were all asleep
Might skip it next year and save up and give the big one down
england a go

I attended the C.L.A. A few times at Raglet Hall and Blenhiem
Palace.
Fantastic day out but you need three days there to see the
complete show. But £27. The numbers dwindled and they finally
threw in the towel.
The entertainment value was there. But the high rise cost of
entry fee and traders charging high amounts put the nail in the
coffin for them.
I also visited the Midland GAME fair last September.
Was shocked to see the downsize of the place.
Loads of the top traders had pulled out.
