Again, I am hearing about how guns on a military base are very
strictly controlled, about who can be armed and when they can be
armed. If that is such a bad thing, why does the military do it
on their bases?
And if it is not a bad thing, why would it be a bad thing in the
civilian world?
So you guys don't piss and moan about not knowing where I stand
on this, I enlisted in the Air Force and agree with the tight
control of weapons on a base, and find that similar regulation
could be setup in the civilian world that would not jeopardize
anyone's 2nd Amendment rights.

Didn't help, did it. I tend to pass on models that aren't
effective, not expand them to other groups.

Exactly! Then I find myself asking the question, why didn't
this guy kill even more people? It's because he found himself
at the wrong end of a gun. End of story.

Well See TS, this sort of thing wouldn't happen if
servicemembers were required to register their guns. :)

He must have registered it somewhere. I thought his actions
were quite responsible. Ending his own miserable life instead
of ending up like another Fort Hood shooter.

There is a mandatory registration on the base for firearms owned
privately. He did not register his private firearm on the base.
He was not a responsible owner.
Who said the act of registering guns would make the owner
responsible?
I don't know anyone hear that has ever claimed that a
registration of firearms would prevent all illegal shootings.

You aren't making the point you think you are. See post #3.
Here's a perfect example of a gun registry solving absolutely
nothing. This guy just ignored it and opened fire.
