GOP change to Obamacare would cost 1 million more workers their
       insurance.

       > A Republican-led bill designed to "save American workers"
would cause 1 million workers to lose their health care coverage
and increase the deficit by $74 billion, according to Congress'
       official scorekeeper.
       >
       > An analysis of the bill, released Tuesday by the nonpartisan
Congressional Budget Office and Joint Committee on Taxation,
found that it would cause 1 million people to lose their
employer-based insurance coverage. The report projected that
more than 500,000 of them would end up getting coverage through
Medicaid, the Children's Health Care Program or the Obamacare
exchanges. The rest, CBO and JCT said, would become uninsured.

Link to actual CBO report in the article itself. Not a big fan
of TPM, but they did report the CBO's findings accurately.
This is what worries me, that attempts to "fix" the ACA are
going to make things even worse than they already are.
At this point there needs to be a complete re-write from the
ground up, not a series of partial fixes and patches.

More than six million lost their coverage already with tens of
millions set to lose theirs when the employers get hit. A
million is nothing. Still, I agree the original needs to be
       scrapped.

Not doing this was one of the compromises made to Republicans in
the first place. That was one of the early attempts by
Republicans to subvert the law was to try and make the reform in
       piecemeal fashion.
It is the major reason we don't have tax reform, but have 900
pages of tax code, because it is always done in a piecemeal
fashion. Members of Congress (both parties, I am non-partisan!)
don't want to actually reform anything, they just try to change
it and make it look like they are doing something useful to the
people while maintaining the little things in the law that helps
       their state/district.
Republicans are always looking out for the Small business guy
throughout health care reform, but if they really cared, they
would have used the chance to get health insurance out of being
embedded as compensation for labor. Small businesses would then
have to change nothing, and pay nothing extra. But the big
companies that offered insurance would lose that advantage over
them, leveling the playing field in favor of small businesses
Democrats just added on more layers to how reform interacts with
the existing social safety nets, instead of taking the
       opportunity to simplifying it.
Yes, it could have been done much better. The opposition fixes
would be worse than the previous system.

Is it just me or does it seem like every time somebody in the
administration opens their mouth about Obamacare, they end up
getting three or four Pinocchios? The latest lie coming from
Sebelius saying, gee, I don't know where the seven million
number came from when it actually came right from her. Then you
have the same shills trying to defend the program, or blame
republicans who never did vote for the bill.

Not just about health care reform, and not just this
       administration.
Major problem with our political system.
All members of Congress are responsible for the actions of
Congress, and the people eligible to vote are responsible for
who is in Congress, not just the ones that actually vote. If
you could vote, and didn't, you get responsibility for allow it
       to happen too.
You mistake me for being a shill defending the PPACA. They
could have done much, much better, especially if everyone in
Congress would cooperate on legislating with their constituents
in mind instead of he campaign donors. Discussions of the use
of the numbers defining people with insurance or not has nothing
really to do with the legislation.

No where in my post do I even remotely mention you or your

I have to wonder if Ed actually knows what he is posting or has

Just making sure you know the slipper doesn't fit. You and
other have accused me of defending Democrats/liberal, and their
proposals, and I have yet to see any of you acknowledge that you
were wrong them, so my assumption is you may still be doing it.
The slipper you you accusing me incorrectly fits.

Same goes for you, Prince Charming. You will be able to let me
know when you understand what you post when you define "liberal"
and produce evidence why I fit the definition.

Chill out Ed, you keep getting defensive about a post that had
nothing to do with you. You're starting to stutter and stammer
in your haste to distance yourself from a post that had nothing
to do with you. Did it hit a little close to home or what?
