Ditto that, Snickers. Meanwhile, the fire is cookin' in the
woodstove, a loaf of bread in the oven, and coffee is ready.
It's another good day to don the Nanuck get-up and go out to
check on the elderly, neighborhood grandmas. Stay warm folks...

Now this is a first. Granite Peek Skiing has been closed down
due to cold weather! What will be next, World Championship
Snowmobile Racing in Eagle River being postponed?

Today I work on getting that darn car started. Have a pan of
pellets burning under it, electric heater in the front of it and
a fan to blow the heat through the makeshift tent I made over
it. Tell me why oh why do I stay here? I know why but I keep
asking the question. I had a chance to move to MD but turned it
down.

Why??
Because this will pass and in a little while we'll have
forgotten just how cold it felt. :D

remember one time lighting a pan charcoal and setting it up like
you describe--then went and bought a tank heater!! My truck is
plugged in now--will take the kid and dog to town later, time to
replenish the bird feed supply----

Really? Compared to me, you must have gotten an updated version
of the Birds & The Bees talk.

It sounds like they were trying to light it under the car. Not
very smart. You place hot coals under it, not light it under
it. Between a portable heater and the hot coals under the
engine and the virtual heat wave we have today (-8) I finally
got it started.
