Ever notice the rainbow after the storm?

This week is CRAZY in my household! Lets start off 9 years
ago:
My wife started her career with Home Depot as a part time
service desk employee. After about a year, she was looking for a
different job that would be full time because I had just broke
my back for the second time and we were not sure if I would ever
work again. Well, the store manager got wind of this "rumor"
and asked my wife if the rumor was true. She looked at him and
said, " tell me the rumor you heard and I will tell you if its
true." He told her and she did not hesitate and responded with
"yes". His response left her shocked, " Congrats! You are now
full time and lets stop this nasty rumor". She was well on her
way to good things until that store manager got walked out. The
new store manager must have felt threatened by the knowledge she
gained by the actions( making her dept supervisor) and kept her
down. He tried to blame her for HIS mistakes and he finally got
walked out recently( corporate was wise). The three assist. mgrs
instantly restored her authority as they transitioned into the
new store manage's era. This guy knows talent when he sees it.
2 years ago, I gave up on doctors( stopped listening to them
and stopped taking the muli-drugs they prescribed) and found a
part time job at the Dollar tree. Now with being out of the
workforce for 4.5 years, I was saddened by the work ethics of my
co-workers. I out worked them on a daily basis even struggling
with extreme pain. My work ethic earned me a part time assist.
mgr position after only a year of service.
My wife and I have been struggling financially for the last 6
years big time and with that it brings us to this week!
On my birthday( tuesday) my district mgr called me at home and
inquired whether I would be available in the evening for a phone
interview for a Store Mgr position. When the interview took
place I had a great feeling that I was going to be offered the
position and I told my wife that it should be a done deal. She
smiled and quickly followed it with a frown when I said that she
would probably be offered an assist.mgr position with Depot the
next day. She said that it wouldn't happen and asked when I
would know for sure about the interview outcome. I knew I would
hear something on wednesday.
WEDNESDAY- My wife punched me! lol She will be testing in
the coming weeks to get the asm position and potentially MOVING
in November! I laughed and told her that I was being sent for
store mgr training for 4 weeks in October. We will be doubling
our BASE income with a potential to TRIPLE in with monthly and
quarterly bonuses. I can see the storm clouds rolling out and
the bright cheery rainbow all thanks to hard work and dedication
by both of us!
