Desperation on display from the DNC
By: trollslayer Date: September 25, 2015, 7:24 am
---------------------------------------------------------
When you can't focus on the positive message from your own
party, (mainly because you don't have one) you manufacture
outrage directed at your competitor.
Wasserman Schultz "reached a new low in political attack
discourse" with her call for Rubio to cancel his fundraising
event at the home of real estate investor Harlan Crow, O'Reilly
said. Crow, whose lavish Highland Park, Texas, residence
features artwork from Adolf Hitler and busts of dictators and
other historical figures, also owns a signed copy of "Mein
Kampf."
"Holding an event in a house featuring the artwork and signed
autobiography of a man who dedicated his life to extinguishing
the Jewish people is the height of insensitivity and
indifference," Wasserman Schultz said in a statement released
through the DNC. "There’s really no excuse for such a gross act
of disrespect. Mr. Rubio, who by the way, represents a sizable
Jewish population in our home state of Florida, should cancel
this tasteless fundraiser."
Crow's mother, however, narrowly escaped death at the hands of
the Nazis, surviving the sinking of the British SS Athenia from
a German U-boat during World War II, as the Washington Free
Beacon noted earlier this week.
Not that I much care for Wasserman-Whatever, but I can
understand why Jewish Americans (like her) might take offense to
holding a fundraiser in the home of a guy that collects Nazi
memorabilia.
Look at it this way: If a Dem candidate held a fundraiser in the
home of someone who collected KKK memorabilia, the right wing
would say nothing? Lol. Fat chance.
(and they'd be right- that too would be inappropriate)

Did you read the same article I did. Let me refresh your
memory.
Crow, whose lavish Highland Park, Texas, residence

He is a collector of historical objects. He has a couple of
pictures painted by Hitler. Hardly "Nazi memorabilia". This is
just a very small part of a much larger collection. But, I do
have to give you an "A" for effort.
His Dallas residence includes a large collection of
historical documents from the likes of Ponce de Leon,
Christopher Columbus, Amerigo Vespucci, George Washington,
Robert E. Lee and all the signers of the Declaration of
Independence and the Constitution of the United States. Crow is
also a noted art collector, owning original paintings by Peale,
Renoir and Monet, as well as the likes of Winston Churchill,
Adolf Hitler and Dwight Eisenhower. All told, 8,500 books and
manuscripts are housed here, including doodles by Abraham
Lincoln and Frederick Douglass' bible, given to him as a gift
from Clarence Thomas.[13] Additonal items include Napoleon's
writing desk and Duke of Wellington's sword from 1815.
His backyard garden is home to sculptures of fallen Communist
icons and dictators, including Vladimir Lenin, Josef Stalin,
Fidel Castro, Karl Marx, Hosni Mubarak, Josip Broz Tito, Nicolae
Ceausescu, Walter Ulbricht, Gavrilo Princip, Bela Kun and Che
Guevara. Crow acquired these former public monuments after the
collapse of the Soviet empire and its satellite states.[14]
Just more manufactured outrage from the party with nothing to
offer.

Thank God he didn't have a Confederate Flag. Image the outrage
if he had collection of Civil War items

Well, here's a Jewish perspective I hadn't considered:

Executive summary:
We are a religion committed to
remembering.
Fair enough, makes sense.
As to your "desperation" comment, I notice you both dodged the
question if it were a democrat holding a fundraiser with with
KKK robes on display, you are certain the right wing would not
say a word? Not a peep? Lol. You and I both know the answer
to that one.

Dodged it? I quite honestly didn't think you were serious. Out
of 10's of thousands of items this guy has collected, he has a
few things from the Nazi era. Big deal. It's a nonissue. It
doesn't matter what side of the aisle he comes from. Your own
article points this out. After reading your last post, I'm
surprised you're still looking for an answer.
A comment like Ms. Schultz’s, especially given that she
is a Jew and especially during this holy time in our calendar,
is beyond offensive to any person with any knowledge of Jewish
practices and beliefs. I do not know Mr. Crow, but it is clear
given the size and breadth of his collection (which includes a
statue of Margaret Thatcher) that he is not a “Hitler-phile” who
is infatuated with the Nazi perpetrator of evil; but rather is a
lover of history…an important Jewish value. For Ms. Schultz to
condemn this love, and then attack the Senator on a personal
level for being involved with a historian is both antithetical
to our faith tradition, and demands an apology from her.
The article was quite harsh towards her for her views. A good
read.
One more thing. Rubio's going to Crowe pandering for money
because he's given in the past. Where was the outrage then?
Why this year? Perhaps to redirect from the weakness on the
Democratic bench? It's just an old dodge the democrats have
been using more and more. Demonize the donor, not the
candidate. (Reid and his obsession with the Koch brothers for
example)

Look at all the money that the Democrats have taken from George
Soros and how they hob nob with him. And he was an actual Nazi
collaborator. He turned on his fellow Jews to help the Nazis
locate them and steal them and eventually take them away to
their deaths.

Oh.... yeah, there's that too! :D :D
Of course we don't really need to bring up this administrations
open hostility towards the Israeli president. Which could be
considered open hostility towards the Jewish people.

Interesting. Bibi openly dislikes Obama, does that mean he
dislikes the American People?
Kinda ironic that this post:

George Soros
Follows this one:
It's just an old dodge the democrats have been using more

BTW, has everyone forgotten the money the Bush family made off
the Nazis? I don't seem to see that mentioned. :)

Nope, you're dodging it. You and I know full well if there were
one single KKK hood in a collection of thousands of historical
items, the Republicans would find it and the faux outrage would
commence.
That's just how politics works, republicans do not play the game
any differently than Wasserman.
