Suspended student to go to White House?
       By: wmd102 Date: September 17, 2015, 8:41 am

In a time where pointing your finger the wrong way (looks like a
gun) or biting a pop tart a certain way (same argument) can and
does get elementary students suspended a high school named
student Ahmed Mohamed built a homemade clock that some of his
teachers seemed to think might have been a bomb! :o Police were
called in and he was handcuffed and taken away and has been
suspended and....invited to meet the President Obama? ???
Those last 6 words, this kid is now the newest CAUSE CELEB, a
example of racism because of how the intelligent was treated
terrible? Do I have to list all the examples of FALSE ALARMS
that have gotten kids suspended, not to mention cases that
turned out to be real to point out that when you build a home
made clock out of spare electric parts people ARE GOING TO
       PANIC!

He got rewarded for bad behavior. He gets to go on a vacation
       over this.

Yep we never heard a peep out of Obama when that 3rd grade
chewed his pop tart into a shape that some thought resembled a
handgun. That little kid was hauled away and suspended. This
little kid had no idea as to the problem with what he did.
Now this high school kid who knows better and knows the rules.
School districts have had No Tolerance policies in effect for
years. Clocks{timers] are components of bombs. it's the same
thing as of he had brought a rifle barrel {just the barrel
component} sticking out of a bag into the school
He is made into some kind of hero and is invited to the
Whitehouse by Obama. Why? Because he is a Muslim. And that's
       the only reason..
I think this kid did this on purpose just to stir up trouble.
They showed him in an interview on TV. His smug look on his face
and his attitude was obvious. His choice of key words seemed to
show what he was up to. Words like "profiled' "discrimination".

There is more. Now Obama not only wants to invite Ahmed Mohamed
to the White House, he also wants him to BRING THE CLOCK! ::)
If it turns out this really is a bomb component part, well now
that could be a real blast. :o

You can bet the Secret Service will examine this clock pretty
good before it gets anywhere near Obama. More hypocrisy by
Obama. The common folks kids lives are of no concern to him. But
       his own a$$ is.
If Obama thinks this thing is so safe let him look at it first
with no examination of it. And make sure he does it out in the
middle of an open field where the Whitehouse can't be damaged.

I don't think the kid did anything wrong, he build a homemade
clock and wanted to show it off to his teachers.
Obama OTOH behaved like an idiot.

I am betting that this kid knew better, he knew what he was
       doing, and what would come.
Everything in the past that I have seen on this type of thing
{toy soldiers, crewed pop tarts, etc} has been ridiculous. While
this was reasonable. His age and the type of item it was.
Those other little children were berated, punished, and
emotionally scarred. this kid was rewarded. Why? Only because
       he was a Muslim.

The only law broken was by the PD itself, interrogating a child
without parents or other representation present violates Texas
law. I wonder if anyone will be punished for that? I suspect
       not. We'll see.
Pro tip: Bombs require explosive material. None present.
Nobody called the bomb squad, evacuated the school or even
removed the thing from the premises.
Instead they set it in an office and took pictures of it, the
cop eventually set it in his car next to his seat...so I suspect
they already knew what it was. And what it wasn't.

I agree with that, this kid is getting special treatment because
       he is Muslim.
Where I suspect we might disagree is I believe all these
wrongly -accused kids should receive at least an apology, not
just the Muslim kid. It isn't their fault the adults are
       knee-knocking pantswetting hysterics.

How was the teacher or the principle to know there was no
explosives? They aren't going to poke around in a suspicious
looking device they think could be a bomb.

Lol...except poke around is exactly what they did.
The first teacher told him to "put it away" and not show his
other teachers. The next few passed it back and forth until
finally setting it on a desk and waiting there with Mohammed
       until police arrived.
If they thought it was explosive they need to be charged with
negligence for not evacuating the students.
