Difficult to find a non-partisan summary of exactly what this
deal involves so I"m mostly on the fence.
So answer me a question....Israel arguably has the most to lose
with a Nuclear Iran. Why do both their internal security agency
and military leaders say the Iran deal is a good one?
       [/quote]
Maybe they are planning on using some of this time to set up
massive strike on Iran and lull Iran into letting their guard
       down?

Maybe. Maybe we should let them do it?
I take the whole thing with a grain of salt because US opinion
is spit right down party lines. That tells me neither side is
being totally honest, they are just playing partisan politics.
Israel OTOH has a lot to lose and their own security and
       military aren't panicking.

Nope, a majority of Congress is against it. Just not enough to
overturn a veto. A majority of Americans are against it a well.

Amazes me that a majority can be for or against anything they
       haven't actually read.

Kinda like you just posted in the other thread about republicans
bankrupting the country. Americans are acutely aware how
untrustworthy the Iranians are. How many Americans have died at
their hands. Then again, crying death to America weekly doesn't
       really help their cause either.

Just the other day their leader announced that Israel will no
longer exist in 20 years. that is a threat.

Absolutely they are untrustworthy. But that really isn't the
       issue.
Whether or not the Iran deal will be effective is the issue.
Partisanship aside, it's all speculation at this point. To
quote Republicans in congress, "significant portions" have been
withheld, only a select few have read the entire text. How do
you know if the deal is any good when you've only read parts of
       it?
(Wonderful way to run a country, huh?)

Republicans want severe sanctions against Iran, problem is
Russia won't go along and will supply whatever we cut off,
rendering them ineffective. Is there really a point in doing
what we already know will fail?

Really? Making a deal with a country that isn't trustworthy
isn't the issue? Did you read that before you posted it? Tell
me, how can you verify the Iranians are following the accord
when you have to give them 24 days notice to inspect them?

It is inevitable. It is going to happen. Sooner or later. We
will be taking military action against Iran. Either a strikes
to take out their nuke facilities. Or full out war in
retaliation for a strike from them.

I don't know how you verify anything without knowing the full
details of the agreement. Bits and pieces are deceiving,
particularly when they are released piecemeal to try to buttress
       a partisan opinion.
Is there a section in there that says Germany has 24/7 access?
       Who knows? I don't, you don't, congress doesn't.....
I have Zero trust for anything Obama negotiates, but I do put
some faith in the Israeli military and security's opinion...and
       that's largely positive.
I'll trust their opinion before anything a Republican (or
democrat) says during an election season.
Deals with untrustworthy nations? We do it all the time. China,
Russia, Saudi Arabia, the entire Iraq government thing, Greece,
Turkey.... many of them we also give weapons to.
The Saudis are the ones that attacked us on 9.11. How
       untrustworthy can it get?
