Childhood obesity skyrockets

Put kids in front of a monitor and feed them processed food and
this should surprise anyone.
Now in my day when we walked 5 miles all uphill to
school...........

WXPR, I spent a lt of Friday nights at their studio for the rock
and roll show, but I digress. Schools are now encouraging this
behavior. In area schools students are now given Ipads. These
of course under the guise of being a "teaching tool". That used
to be what we called out teachers.

I was very lucky where I went to school the school lunch
programs had very good home cooked food and a variety of foods
also. We also had homemade French bread daily. Take a look at
the school lunch menus of today and you will see how kids are
putting on pounds.

And played all day outside.
Look at these kid's parents. No shortage of obesity there
either. But hey, it's a disease now, not a behavior, so you
really don't have to try to change it. You are a victim after
all.

We played outside all year round.. And we didn't have the nice
warm clothes we have now. Wool knitted mittens?? They were
useless. Turned into ice clumps on your hands. LOL
We look like Randy in the movie Christmas Story.
We were on the run all the time. And I mean run. We never sat
around.
As for school lunches. Went to a Catholic grade school. The
lunches were bland as hell. Took me many years to try cheese
again. We always had a stick of dried out old cheese. Peas and
carrots had no taste at all. There was no such thing as salt and
pepper. Never heard of anyone wishing they could go back for
seconds.

I'd forgotten about those Catholic School lunches, lol. "just
offer it up as a sacrifice" :)
