The law states that gay people are allowed to buy marriage
licenses and get married in this country. Her job is to issue
marriage licenses. If she wasn't doing that, despite a judge
ordering her to do so, she is in contempt of court.
She also prohibited her deputy clerks from issuing licenses,
even though they had no religious issue with it and her
signature would not appear on the license.
The Judge offered to waive the jail term if she authorized her
deputy clerks to issue licenses in her place. She and her son
(who also works there) would be exempted from issuing licenses.
She refused.
Seems everyone involved was trying to make accommodations to
suit her beliefs, but that wasn't what she wanted. She wants to
be a Martyr. She got her wish.

And Evangelicals don't adhere to the Christian teachings. :P

You know this how? Not a bigoted bone in your body right?
Funny how you jump at a blanket statement like teachers are
poorly trained then issue another blanket statement that is
quite similar to the one you objected to. :P

Simple question Sheila, You know this how?
And Evangelicals don't adhere to the Christian
teachings

First you say that teachers are poorly trained. Then you
say parents should listen to teachers regarding their kid's
behavior. Care to explain what you mean? And why do you think
teachers are poorly trained?
The "LAW" states or just the scotus? BIG difference there and I
have yet to see the actual "law" that was VOTED on by congress.

It's considered a civil right, Congress could not vote on it if
they wanted to. Nothing in the bill of rights can be voted on.
Has to be amended.
If the county is going to offer marriage licenses, they have to
offer them to all legal applicants equally. They can choose not
to if they wish, but they have to turn every applicant down.
There is no law saying the county has to offer marriage licenses
to black or interracial couples either. Or to allow blacks to
vote. Congress never voted on any of that, they were merely
supreme court decisions. Are you suggesting that none of those
things are a legal requirement?
