ASHLAND, Ky. — A county clerk who refused on religious grounds
to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples was found in
contempt of court Thursday and taken into federal custody.
       ...
An Apostolic Christian, she has said it would violate her faith
to put her name on a marriage license for two people of the same
       sex.
       __________________________
Her religious beliefs are what they are and I'm sure this will
turn into some sort of "religious liberty" lawsuit or nonsense
claim that Christianity is now illegal.
Of course the real lessons here have nothing to do with
       religion at all:
       1) If you don't like your job or object to it's requirements,
your option is to quit and work elsewhere. You are free to
exercise your beliefs. You are not free to impose them on your
       employer.
       2) Don't **** off a judge by ignoring his orders. That is what
leads to jail, not your religious beliefs.

       I agree.
If her religious beliefs prevent her from doing her job then
she needs to resign and find a new job.

Exactly. And the judge told her clerks that they would be held
in contempt if they didn't give out the marriage licenses.

Disagreeing with the law, doesn't mean you can break the law.
But then again maybe Lois Lerner should be advised about this,
or our president on immigration, or sanctuary cities. It's kind
of funny how certain laws are vigorously enforced while
       others... not so much.

Consistency would be nice, I agree. And not just for this
       administration. :)

Yup. This woman didn't do anything that Obama didn't do. Why
       isn't he sitting in jail.
Our laws don't apply equally and that is a travesty.

One small over looked bit of info here; She denied ALL marriage
licenses not just for gays. I guess I'm one of the only ones who
applaud her for standing her ground.
