So because a person is "confused" about their identity that
means they have a right to push their "confusion" on all those
around them? The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the
one. I think those that share a locker room with the person in
question ave a right to have their views heard.

Whats to keep some guy from putting on a wig and a woman's
blouse and run down to the YMCA. And then when he sees a young
hottie headed for the locker room just walk in and get an eye
full.
All he has to do is claim that he is transgender.
The school should clean out some large closet put in a bench
and locker and a shower stall and put a sign on the door saying
"Transgender locker room."

You guys are over simplifying this situation.
As long as there were students with issues about this, the girl
should have used the gender neutral room.
But I'm betting most of the girls really didn't care. Kids are
much more open and accepting than their parents.
The school apparently offered Perry a gender neutral
bathroom, which he rejected claiming, “I am a girl, I shouldn’t
be pushed off to another bathroom.”
Well...no, you are not a girl. You identify as a girl and
that's perfectly fine, but you have physical boy parts which
make the other girls uncomfortable.
The solution has to fit everyone's needs, not just yours. The
gender neutral bathroom is the proper solution.

I have a personal situation I want to share. My relative married
one of these "I am a man but I am going through a sex change"
person. There are levels as to how far a person can go into a
sex change. He is legally a she now. She had hormones to grow a
chest. She did not have the surgery to remove her manhood. My
relative and her showed up to go to the pool. Here she is in a
tutu swimsuit with a five o clock shadow. When we got to the
pool she walks into the womens bathroom with us. We took dry
clothes with us to change when we left. I took her aside and
told her that she is to use the bathroom when we go to change in
as the changing area was an open area and I did not want her
freaking out little girls.
I was totally disgusted. I don't think it is cool. I don't think
it is funny. I think I am very mellow person all in all but I
not for this type of thing. Adults with these kind of issues
need to suck it up and think of what is best for kids.

Teenagers are very self conscious and embarrass easily. I don't
know about you but I know that I was at that age and my friends
were too.

Agree. To add: Unless he's a really good aim in the girls' water
closet, it's not fair to the girls to have to deal with the
toilet seat when he's done in there.

I kinda doubt that any transgender person that identifies as a
woman would stand when they pee. :)
