I didn't miss anything, I said in general I agree with you.
There are certain exceptions where I think taxes should be
adjusted and listed a few examples.
In general we need to spend less and there are a whole lot of
places that could be cut. We build jet engines the military
does not want, write "job creation' checks to places like GE
that move operations overseas, nobody wastes money like the
Feds.
Defunding PP won't make any difference in the budget.
Defunding every organization we support from the arts to
sciences to community health centers isn't going to make any
difference.
[/quote]
Yes, it will make a difference. It's just drops in the bucket,
but the more drops you get in the bucket, the more it's filled.
Yes cut all that you mentioned and more.
The jobs GE sent over seas? Remind me again, who was the CEO
prior to working for the Obama administration? A million or so
sent to green energies. Te list could go on and on and nothing
should be spared. We are the next Greece.

here's a way to save some money...take away tax-exempt status
from organizations. Like churches.

We are the next Greece.

Disagree. Greece is shackled to the euro. They can't print their
way out of a crisis like the US can (and just did). Instead they
are at the mercy of the Eurozone for bailouts.
Not only are we not the 'next Greece', our economy has
outperformed that of any rival country since the financial
crisis.
But there is a lesson to be learned in Greece, that extreme
austerity will not kick start an economy. It made things worse,
in fact caused a second recession.

So be it.
Rather than take money away from help organizations tax-exempt
status should go away...or maybe modified.
The problem I see is this...too many tax-exempt group don't use
money wisely. The money they would have paid for taxes doesn't
necessarily get used in a good way.

I'm not sure I'd leave the definition of money "used wisely" in
the hands of any politician.

Well, here's the problem, Trolly....that's subjective. What a
conservative considers a waste of money might not necessarily be
what a liberal thinks is a waste of money...and vice versa.
