I know that. Tomorrow, I'm going to do a photo collage on
Facebook because I'm proud of my girl. I'm just appalled at
what some consider the low threshold of motherhood these days.

Update, the story goes on. After a few emails, and being told
there is nothing they can do for me, I received a call from SS
asking me to come in and fill out a form for child support, then
the case could be opened. I went in, got the form and checked
it out in the car in the parking lot. It clearly said if you
are the guardians you need to fill out a form for guardians. I
went back in, told them they gave me the wrong form and after
waiting 15 minutes I was told this is the only form they had. I
took it home, filled it out the best I could since it was the
wrong form and brought it back. They sent the form back to me
on Friday with a note telling me to give them more information
on the mom and dad. Where they worked, how much they made, SS #
whether or not they had insurance how often they got paid etc.
Now, first of all, I have no access to most of that information,
second of all, the letter that they sent had the mom's and dad's
name on it along with their SS #'s, the case #'s and who was and
wasn't the Noncustodial parent. Now, just having that
information is enough for these idiots to know who they're
dealing with and they should have more information on the case
then I should. Redundancy pi$$es me off. What also pi$$es me
off is poor customer service. Every time I stopped at the SS
office I'll have to wait, looking at the lady behind the glass
move papers from the right side of her desk to the left and then
back again before she even acknowledges my presence. Today's
note said I enclosed all the information I know and I'm not
sending anymore information. I'm not receiving any benefits
from these people and I'm not going to do their job for them
anymore. I'm tired of the system.

Government employees generally **** me off. I've been
threatened with prosecution (?!) by a DMV clerk in Madison
because the driver's license they were mailing never got here
and I asked them to re-send it. How dare me, right?
Our USPS deliveryperson isn't any better, tried to run my foot
over with her mailmobile because I asked why- if the mailbox was
too snowed in to deliver the mail- how she got the note in there
saying she couldn't deliver my mail. I thought it was a fair
question.
Good luck dealing with those mindless slugs, you're going to
need it.

Update: This past week we received a debit card that has the
child support on it. Getting the child support stopped is quite
difficult, and even more difficult to reverse back in the future
should it need to be done. Personally, I don't want the support
and stated this right from the beginning. My stand on this
remains unchanged. I've given the debit card to my son in law.
As I said earlier, paying child support doesn't make you a
father, if you don't want to be a father then don't. Keep the
damn money. My main goal has been achieved. The uterus is no
longer getting the support. That's all that really mattered to
me. May sound cold or callous, or however you look at it. If
you don't want to be a mom or a dad full time, all the time, for
better or worse GTFO. This part time I'll do what I want
if/when I want sh1t doesn't cut it. I might get my life back
in order in a year or two doesn't either. Rant over.

Regarding the CS money, perhaps you could start a college fund,
or even a simple savings account for your Granddaughter and put
it there?

It surprised (and saddened me) to find out how many friends our
kids had with parents who should not be. We've always had an
open door policy, anyone is invited to dinner at any time :) or
to stay if they need a bed. Saw some kids a lot. I don't
get it either Trolly, why some parents think this stuff is
optional.

I firmly believe some people should not be allowed to have
children .
And some people should not be allowed too have own pets or
animals
