Rapids is #6
This speaks volumes towards the "controlling" interest group!

Rapids and Point are above Milwaukee. Amazing. I don't think so.

The idea that they put Merrill as first and Rhinelander second
shows how this list is BS, unless I'm reading it upside down. I
think both are holes.

Then I agree with the poll, and yes FTB is from there. Kinda

They ranked lower population density as a negative, also easy
availability of cheap housing. Those are bad things?
Seems they like dense urban areas with expensive rents and big
mortgages. Load of BS if you ask me. Although I couldn't get
out of Merrill fast enough. Yecch.
Beloit is the worst city in the state, followed by parts of
Milwaukee. Nothing north of Janesville is a high-crime area,
except perhaps part of Green Bay.

I agree with rapids_60...what the hell does lower population
density have do with contributing to being a negative? I prefer
lower population density.

From the what it says on attachment article.{complete list} They
seem more interested in the things to do issue. They keep
repeating that there isn't anything to do but spend time
enjoying the outdoors.
The issue that seems most accurate is the stressed economies and
crime.
And yeah the crime rates are climbing dramatically.
Rapids has been sliding down hill in the past 15 years. And I
have no idea where all these low lives are coming from. They are
like rats. The way their numbers are increasing here. Drugs are
the big issue. That's where almost all the crime is stemming
from. Stealing and robbing to get money to buy their meth,
heron, and grass. And then there are all the fights and assaults
between these slime balls.
But I would still put up with this over the larger cites. You
couldn't pay me to live in places like Madison, Green Bay,
Milwaukee, La Crosse, etc. The drug dealers here are small
time . In the larger cities they are part of the gangs. That's
where it gets really nasty.
I wish there was way to run all these slimeballs out of city.
But there isn't.

Yup. I've had things stolen off my front porch. Motorcycles
stolen from garages in the neighborhood. Meth lab across the
street. Drug dealers renting a place 2 houses down, flashing
the "chrome under their sweats". Fortunately the PD keeps a
pretty constant eye on the place, but as soon as they drag one
group of lowlifes out in handcuffs, another takes it's place.
And this USED to be a quiet, mostly retired neighborhood. I grew
up in Rapids and never remember it being this bad.

I plan on living here until I die. And as I get older and it
keeps getting worse. I will get a conceal carry permit.
