2 cops shot in Ferguson

I'll be waiting for the DOJ's investigation of this hate crime.
I'm sure I'll be waiting a long time.
FERGUSON, Mo. — Two police officers were shot outside the
Ferguson Police Department early Thursday as the Missouri town
saw fresh demonstrations following last week's release of a
damning Justice Department report alleging bias in the police
department and court.
Bob Hoehn, a KSDK-TV photographer, reported two police officers
were loaded into ambulances. One was taken immediately to
Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center and the teaching
hospital for Washington University School of Medicine. The other
officer was initially treated on the scene.
In a news conference outside the hospital around 2 a.m. CT, St.
Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said one officer was shot
in the shoulder and one was shot in the face. Both officers are
conscious, but in serious condition.
"I don't know who did the shooting, to be honest with you,"
Belmar said, adding that he could not provide a description of
the suspect or gun.
He said his "assumption" was that, based on where the officers
were standing and the trajectory of the bullets, "these shots
were directed exactly at my officers."
This blood is on Obama's, Holders, and Sharpton's hands.
And I am getting so sick of those animals down in Ferguson.

Why is this on their hands? What were they supposed to
do....build an Auschwitz in Missouri and gas all the black folk?
They would have been upset and protested whether Al Sharpton
showed up or not. And there is always an element of the
population who will use something as an opportunity to cause
trouble.

Linda, I invite you to take a listen to Rev Al's rhetoric and
the ongoing rhetoric from the Obama administration. Cops are
the bad guys these days.

When you are the HNIC you really should know how to act that way
or get out of the way for those who do! Where have you gone
"Crazy" Joe Clark?

That public perception isn't due to Sharpton. A lot of folks
disregard Sharpton entirely and still see a problem.
Every week it's news of another SWAT team shooting someone,
often in the wrong house.
Or plugging someone as they comply with your order to retrieve
their license. Or popping a guy in the dark who was simply
going home. Or a kid with a toy gun. Or an unarmed, sleeping
homeless guy. And it happens again and again and again.
Always justified unless it's so egregious it cannot be, and
even then it often is anyway.
This stuff, and the two sets of rules that accompany it is the
problem, the handful of bad cops are dragging the entire law
enforcement machine down with them. That really isn't
Sharpton's fault. It's the fault of a system that defends the
bad cops and bad decisions instead of purging them.

Here's this month's already.
Unarmed, wearing only shorts, shot in the face during a botched
SWAT raid.
Over Pot.
HTML http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2015/03/06/another-day-another-drug-raid-fatality/
Watch carefully as the officer is quickly cleared of any
wrongdoing, while another unarmed young man has been executed
over a warrant. To search for a substance no longer illegal in
some states.
And if it is determined that the cops in these cases are
following policy, and that there’s nothing wrong with the
policies themselves, then the only conclusion we can draw is
that the police agencies believe unarmed men getting shot in the
face is an acceptable consequence of the effort to stop people
from getting high on marijuana.
And you wonder why public opinion is what it is?

The guy was dealing drugs, that's against the law. The cops
were met with resistance that's resisting arrest. Yet this is
somehow the cops fault. I just don't understand the mindset of
the criminal sympathizers.
If you remember right, in Ferguson two black youths were just
walking down the street minding their own business and threw up
their arms and surrendered. The excuse given in this Florida
case is even more flimsier than that. The lesson here is
simple, don't deal drugs, don't resist arrest, live another day.
All the cops are doing is their job and do it to the best of
their ability so that they can go home to their families at the
end of the day. This in no way gives any justification for
cowardly shooting two cops trying to do their job no matter how
you spin it.

"suspected" of dealing drugs. You skipped that little part
about due process, a jury, all that inconvenient stuff and went
straight for the death penalty.
Resisting is normally a misdemeanor. Let's not even try to
justify that one.
So...if you object to excessive force and bad judgement you are
a "Criminal Sympathizer". ;D That's how the red scare worked
too, lol. Complain about it and you were one. Thing is,
without complaints nothing changes. And this needs to change.
I guess I miss the days when we expected police response to be
appropriate for the crime and/or threat at hand. Now we justify
just about anything if the perp committed some crime, no matter
how minor it may have been. Welcome Police state, we've been
waiting for you.
(pro tip: in the police state, you too are an expendable serf.
It just hasn't been your turn yet.)
So far it seems the only thing the guy here did was appear in a
doorway in his shorts, trying to figure out who just barged into
his house without knocking.
He had no gun, he made no threats. The cop says he "advanced
on him". 6 others in the house say he did not. Maybe he did.
But what exactly does "advanced on him" mean? Walked into the
room where the cops were? That's a deadly threat now?

He had a half an ounce in the house. It's still illegal.
Perhaps you missed these lines.
“Volusia County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators
and the Street Crimes Unit were attempting to serve a search
warrant at a residence. They were met with resistance and a
shooting occurred,”
When a cop is serving you with a search warrant, it's best not
to resist. We don't know how he resisted. I, like yourself
don't have the entire story. It would seem to me that after you
rushed to judgement declaring Darren Wilson guilty you would
have learned your lesson. I guess not.
