Unions have driven more safety and training improvements than
the federal government, and they often enforce things OSHA and
other agencies ignore.
The airline mechanics union is right now suing American Airlines
for violating safety procedure. They claim:

Personally I'm kinda happy they get active over that stuff.
Airlines aren't a good place to skirt safety rules and I'd
prefer my plane was inspected by someone who wasn't being
hurried along and skipping stuff over profit worries. Who's
going to fill these shoes when the union is gone?
Please don't tell me we're gonna rely on government regulators.

think trade unions are probably pretty good idea--doing the job
of making sure there a people qualified to operate/run machinery
safely&efficiently--maybe one should go back to the original
idea of guilds??? But when unions morphed-------

Strange stuff this. The assembly is apparently gonna vote this
morning, pretty much making it a done deal. Where are the
National labor leaders and National news outfits? Even with
Walker thinkin about a Presidential run, Wisconsin don't get no
respect.
