AX TV is the name of the network Rather is working for. He was
there since the beginning and I do remember when he first
started he seemed so enthusiastic. Then he tried that trumped up
lawsuit against CBS news and it has been a downward spiral ever
since. :P
At least Brian Williams is now trying man up. Better late than
never? He just volunteered to take some time off. No word on how
long, if ever, before he returns. :-[

I never could get used to the guy. I grew up on Cronkite and
thought he was a poor replacement for him.

Yeah, when Cronkite retired CBS was #1 in the Nightly News
Ratings. Rather took over and they fell to #3 and have there
ever since. You would think that something like that would make
a man feel just a little bit humble. Instead, his arrogance
seems to have only grown. In a way it sort of makes you wonder
how he lasted as long as he did. Example" FIRST CAMERA, Connie
Chung co anchor, and who could forget about 7 minutes of dead
air when decided to walk out on live? President G H W Bush
remembered! ;)

I had the pleasure of meeting Walter Cronkite in 1976 at the CBS
NY facility with my Dad. Walking past his office I decided what
the heck...knocked on the door fully expecting to be told to get
lost. Instead I got a handshake and a welcome. He was as
nice a man in person as he appeared on TV.
