The page comes up but the content is blank. Do you have to be

No. Not sure what the problem is. Try going to the home page and
look for the MOST POPULAR section. That link should work. Sorry
for the extra trouble.

In case you are wondering why I am so interested in this it is
because I sort of remember when McDonalds changed over from
tallow to vegetable oil to deep fry their fries. The CBS morning
news program at the time made a big deal out this. The had a
pediatrician to discuss what is and what is not good for
children and when this came up he compared parents that take
children to eat at McDonalds because they went from tallow to
vegetable oil to a toad having one wart removed. Something to
think about before you start to pander to whiners.

Who thought McDonalds was, is, or ever will be "healthy"?
Rush is about 50% correct on this. McDonalds switched to 100%
vegetable oil way back in 1990 on cholesterol concerns. They
saw it as a marketing plus based on their own market research.
The Lefties sued some years later over the "beef flavoring"
that replaced the tallow.
It was not disclosed as containing real beef, vegans, hindus
and others who avoid meat for personal or religious reasons
filed the suit. They were awarded $10 million and offered an
apology, the ingredient list was updated. The beef flavoring is
still used.
Every business out there has it's group of haters. Rush needs
to whine about what is basically free speech a little less.
Don't pander to whiners :D
Here's what he gets dead wrong:
Rush claims a handful of lefties fooled McDonalds into thinking
the majority wanted healthier food. Mc Donalds, according to
Rush, simply caved to their demands.
Mc Donalds does not change napkin fonts without doing extensive
market research, much less ingredients in their most popular
offerings. They are not #1 because they make unfounded
assumptions about their products.

That, and the fact that spent vegetable oil can be sold off for
bio fuel diesel, spent tallow can not so they had to send money
on its disposal.

Let me counter that with, "What other restaurant chain has been
tagged with being as UNHEALTHY?" Subway with its yoga mat
material in its bread? ???

Those were absolutely, positively awful. Unless you were
looking for a rough but effective laxative.

get rid of the wraps, salads and fancy coffee stuff and
concentrate on what brought you to the dance--don't try be
everything for everybody---just a core menu of burgers, etc....
Make it easier for the franchisee also----no one goes to McD's
for a salad---and with the savings from the simplification maybe
a better quality 'cheap' burger may be offered and make it
simpler to meet time restraints for the drive-thru

Salads are their 8th best selling item, actually ahead of double
cheeseburgers (#9). Snack wraps are #3, right behind fries (#1)
and Big Macs (#2). #1 is fries, of course.

What baffles me is why I can zip right through Hardees (nobody
is there), but the line at McDonalds stretches back through the
parking lot. I like Hardee's menu better.
