It that a bass? Is that a walleye? Or maybe a panfish, I cant
tell the way that thing is flip flopping around, its hard to
tell what it is.
Today we are expecting the president to issue an executive order
with regards to illegal immigration. I wonder how what he will
say tonight will compare to what he said on March 28, 2011. when
he said, "Well, first of all, temporary protective status
historically has been used for special circumstances where you
have immigrants to this country who are fleeing persecution in
their countries, or there is some emergency situation in their
native land that required them to come to the United States. So
it would not be appropriate to use that just for a particular
group that came here primarily, for example, because they were
looking for economic opportunity.
With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations
through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there
are laws on the books that Congress has passed — and I know that
everybody here at Bell is studying hard so you know that we’ve
got three branches of government. Congress passes the law. The
executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws.
And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws.
There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very
clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system
that for me to simply through executive order ignore those
congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate
role as President."
Or on January 31, 2013 when he said, "Well, I think it is
important to remind everybody that, as I said I think
previously, and I’m not a king. I am the head of the executive
branch of government. I’m required to follow the law. And that’s
what we’ve done. But what I’ve also said is, let’s make sure
that we’re applying the law in a way that takes into account
people’s humanity. That’s the reason that we moved forward on
deferred action. Within the confines of the law we said, we have
some discretion in terms of how we apply this law. The same is
true with respect to the kinds of the length of time that people
have to spend outside of the country when their spouses are
already here for example.
So we’re making some changes there. But there are still going to
be stories that are heartbreaking with respect to deportations
until we get comprehensive immigration reform. That’s one of the
reasons I think it’s so important for us to go ahead and get
this action done. And keep in mind that if we’re able to say, at
the end of this year, or maybe even before the end of the
summer, that we’ve gotten comprehensive immigration reform done,
then that then empowers me to deal with many of these issues in
a way that I think, to allow the more specific issues that a lot
of people I think would like to see resolved."
Or on February 14, 2013 when he said,"Well, look Jackie, this is
something I’ve struggled with throughout my presidency. The
problem is that you know I’m the president of the United States.
I’m not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute
laws that are passed, and Congress right now has not changed
what I consider to be a broken immigration system.
And what that means is that we have certain obligations to
enforce the laws that are in place, even if we think that in
many cases the results may be tragic. And what we have been able
to do is to make sure that we’re focusing our enforcement
resources on criminals — as opposed to somebody who’s here, just
trying to work and look after their families.
What we have tried to do is administratively reduce the burdens
and hardships on families being separated. And what we’ve done,
obviously, is pass the deferred action which made sure that the
dream, uh, uh dreamers, young people who were brought here and
think of themselves as Americans, are American except for their
papers, that they’re not deported.
Having said all that, we’ve got to stretch our administrative
flexibility as much as we can. And that’s why making sure we get
comprehensive immigration reform done is so important."
There are more, but I think the point is made. It will be
interesting to see how what he says and does tonight jives with
what he previously said.

Interesting day this, and politically risky. First, gotta
admit, legal or not, it's controversial. Then, if there are
really 11 million even after the dream act, seems opinions are
he will do something for about 5 million, leaving 6 million
sayin "what the f--k". Then, just cause races and nationalities
seem to end up living near each other, the new "Obama chosen"
with fresh work permits will now be competing with their citizen
neighbors for the few available jobs.

I don't get is as well. Only covering roughly half of those
illegals here after stating he doesn't have the authority to do
so. He was warned not only by the Republicans but by members of
his own party as well. Yet he plows ahead anyway. I think he's
going to find his next two years are going to be more
contentious than his first six. His legacy will be tarnished by
this, not that he has much of a legacy to speak of at this
point.

So basically the illegals that are here and working can stay
here and work (if they pass a background check and pay taxes)
without worry of deportation. No shortcut to citizenship.
Law enforcement resources are freed up to deal with and deport
the criminals and thieves.
Roughly 40% of the illegal alien population will be affected by
this action, almost exactly the same percentage as affected by
G. Bush's EO in 1986.

So how many of these illegals do you think are going to come
forward for a background check and pay taxes?
With six million or so still out there unable to take this path
an those millions that won't, how do you figure this will free
up law enforcement when the majority of illegals are still
illegal?
Democrats are dancing in the streets thinking this move will
cement the Latino vote in their favor without even thinking
about any kind of possible backlash. Why do you suppose Obama
waited until after the election to make this announcement?

We shall see. Gussin the biggest obstacle will be proving being
here for 5 years, no easy task. Then next would be worrying
about work, why would an employer currently taking advantage of
ones illegal status stay with that employee when they can just
hire other illegals that don't qualify instead?

I'm also wondering how does the government figure out back taxes
and when they find a way how will they collect it? Many if told
they owe thousands won't bother. Many won't report any income
and then will be eligible for the Earned Income Credit costing
Americans millions. Not to mention other subsidies they'll get.

Obama is a lying, p. o. s. of a hypocrite. He made reference to
scripture and then went on to pretend to be this caring and
compassionate person.
The ONLY reason he is doing this is for political power and
control. He could care less about these people. He is only
interested in winning over more votes for the Democrats.
This is about trying to screw over the Republicans. Trying to
force them to take action against his so they will look like the
bad guys to all those ignorant people pout there. Remember the
"stupid voters".
Obama uses people as political pawns. He has no interest in
helping anyone but himself and his fellow Soros puppets.
I can only think of one instance where a brain aneurism would be
a blessing.
And that would be him having one would be a huge blessing for
the people of this country.

I was thinking that too. What employer is going to say "sure,
we've had him working here illegally for the last 6.5 years"?
I'm not seeing that happen.
I guess the illegals that have been paying taxes (there are
quite a few that do) could possibly prove it that way.
