       2016 predictions???

A week ago, heck even Monday i would have conceded the next
election to Hillary Clinton. Now.......I am not so sure. She
campaigned hard for some candidates and they did not do so well.
Christie campaigned and his candidates did well. I think his sit
down and shut up outburst was just the sort of thing people
sometimes want to hear (too bad Obama never tried that with the
legislature, of course he would have had to put some meat behind
the words), He jumped big time. I have a feeling Hillary Might
not even be the nominee on the Democratic ticket again. Christie
I think is the one who really looked good yesterday.

I like Christie. He doesn't take any crap, and says what he
thinks. I listened to him on the news this morning, and it was
refreshing, to say the least, to hear a politician throw out
some straight-talk. Too bad about his ugly pink tie, though. :)

I agree with you Jack. The candidate the Clintons endorsed in
their home state of Arkansas lost. When you can't even pull off
a win in your home state it kind of hows your star power is
tarnished. I like Christie but I don't know if he will be able
to pull it off. His abrasiveness while being attractive to some
is a turn off for others. I think if Republicans can get
through the primary without it getting messy like last time they
will be able to pull it off. I can't see Obama becoming more of
a centrist and working with Congress and that will hurt the
democratic candidate whoever that may be.
It's funny, in this election it was the Democrats who were
pulling all the gaffes. Not Republicans.
This is the change we hoped for!

We'll see if the Republicans do good things with their control
of congress. If they do, I'd bet on a republican president next
time no matter who the Dem's run.
OTOH if it's a far right free-for-all completely devoid of
       moderation....Hi Hillary.

You got it, Rapids. If the results of this election are a
reflection on the president, then the way the new congress works
will be what people base their votes on in 2016.
I hope they do well. I'm not one of those people who wishes for
our elected officials to fail just because I didn't vote for
them. But they need to realize that they, like the Obama
administration, will be watched very closely.

After viewing the press conference it appears Obama isn't going
to change. Already talking about executive action on
immigration. If republicans come up with something he likes
he'll sign it. Says last week this election was about his
policies, now it's not. It's because 2/3's or Americans didn't
vote as if this is something new..
What you need to look at are the facts. Reublicans took over the
Senate by numbers nobody seen coming. They now hold 30 of the 50
governor seats. They hold control of almost 2/3's of all state
legislators. Pretty good considering there was this backwoods
fella here a while back trying to declare the republican party
       dead

This also shows the war on women is over and democrats lost.
Also race baiting no longer works.
I heard a democratic strategist tonight saying the only way
democrats stand a chance at winning any of these seats back is
they need to learn to connect with white voters.

       Or merely wait it out.
The underlying problem is that people are sick and tired of bad
       *government*.
They tossed out the Democrats in '94. Then tossed the
Republicans out in 08. Now they've tossed the democrats back
out again. They'll likely be dissatisfied with the Republican
majority soon enough and back the pendulum will swing.
       Temporarily.

Probably not. He's not about to admit he's headed in the wrong
direction or that the country doesn't like what he's doing.
       It's full speed ahead.
This is going to be an interesting couple of years, Trolly.
I doubt there'll be much flexibility on the R side either.
They'll try to dismantle Obamacare, Obama will veto it, so
on...so forth. Compromise is seen as weakness and job #1 is
making the other guy look bad.

       Everything Rapids said.
You guys are so eager to point out what the Democrats did wrong
that you don't look back at history and realize that this is
       indeed a pendulum swing.
