You are wondering why the Pentagon gagged anyone who found
chemical weapons in Iraq? Because the next question would be
where Saddam got them. And the Pentagon doesn't want to answer
that.
We apparently denied medical care to our own soldiers exposed to
chemical weapons in Iraq on the grounds of secrecy:

Let me get this straight, GWB got the USA all fired up to go to
war with Saddam Hussein over chemical weapons yet when they
discovered he decided it would be better to branded the biggest
liar in history (prior to ACA) than "acknowledge" that these
chemical may have originated from the USA. GWB all I can say to

Other things we have learned along the way, chemical weapons
are so difficult that Saddam needed us provide to provide them
to him yet they are simple enough to manufacture that neighbor
Assad had no problem making his own.

I think the only real surprise here is the idea that the NY
Times broke this story giving possible credibility to the ideas
that Saddam actually had WMD's.
There is no disputing that he had the manufacturing capabilities
nor any dispute that he could and would use them.
No big surprise that our vets didn't get the care they needed.
I guess that's why there isn't a lot of talk about it. That and
it would go against the talking points of the mainstream media

It was a fact that Saddam used chemical weapons on the Kurds.
How could anyone have ever said that Iraq didn't have WMD?

Yes, that is basically exactly what happened. The weapons
found were all pre- 1991 and mostly of USA design. Rather than
explain how we armed our now-enemy with weapons we aren't
supposed to even have.....we threw a whole lot of people,
including servicemembers injured by those weapons- right under
the bus.
