       Remember when Obama said
   DIR By: trollslayer

       ---------------------------------------------------------
We aren't black americans or white Americans, or democrats or
republicans, we're all Americans. Also how he was going to be
the great uniter of all people? All that hope and change? I'm
still waiting. In his speech yesterday at Northwestern he again
       attacks republicans with half truths.
[quote]In a speech at Northwestern University Thursday,
President Obama attacked the Fox News Channel by name.
“But I have laid out my ideas to create more jobs and grow more
wages,” Obama told students at Northwestern University following
a high-dollar fundraiser for Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn. ”A true
opposition party should have the courage to lay out theirs.
There’s a reason fewer Republicans are preaching doom on
deficits – because they’re now manageable.”
“There’s a reason fewer are running against Obamacare,” Obama
claimed, according to his prepared remarks, “because while good,
affordable health care might still be a fanged threat to freedom
on Fox News, it’s working pretty well in the real world.”
Obama’s Twitter account, run by his non-profit advocacy group
Organizing for Action, also tweeted the shot at the network.
President Obama: While affordable health care might still be
a threat to freedom on Fox News, it’s working pretty well in the
       real world.[quote]
Lets break down his speech. Republicans have laid out their job
plan. You saying they haven't doesn't make it so. Right now
the level of people that are employed has reached the level it
was at in 2008. While it may sound good on paper there are 15
million more people in the job market now than there were in
       2008.
Meanwhile he goes on to say that Republicans aren't running
against Obamacare's "good affordable healthcare". The reason
behind that is simple. They don't have to. The list of things
to run against democrats is growing by the day, I don't need to
list them here. But I find myself asking, where is this
"affordable" healthcare? Obamacare for many has done nothing
but raise the price of insurance and deductibles while wages
remain stagnant? Exactly what about that is good?

Gosh, a politician attacking the opposition with half truths.
Surely nobody has done that Prior to Obama. Death panels.

But there are death panels. Always have been.

No there are not death panels. There are insurance company
drones who live to deny your claims, but you are free to seek
       treatment via alternate means.
Nobody decides it's your time to die as Palin suggested.

Yes you are free to seek treatment via alternate means.....if
       you have the money.
If you don't, you're dead. Ever see the price of cancer meds?

Hey, if people don't have the money for their treatment, then
they should have worked harder to earn money when they were
healthy. They had the same opportunities as everyone else, and
shouldn't rely on MORE GOVERNMENT to bail them out! ;)

I'm not sure anyone is calling for government intervention.
What I'm saying though is there are some courses of chemo that
run more than some peoples houses. For insurance companies to
deny those that need coverage is a death sentence.

Yes, unfortunately too closely with friends who were uninsured
and my mother who was well- insured. Neither of the uninsured
were turned away (Riverview, then Marshfield) or denied cancer
surgery or meds. Unfortunately neither survived.
My mom OTOH is doing well, completely clean, having caught it
       early.
It isn't the $50K cancer meds that were out of reach, at
least in this case, those things were provided when TSHTF.
It's the regular, preventative office visits that might have
caught the cancers early and avoided the need for the $50K
cancer meds in the first place. That's what my friends could
       not afford.
I can see where insurance company denials might be akin to a
death sentence for financial reasons. That was a poorly thought
       out comment, point granted.
But that is not a feature of the ACA's end of life counseling
provisions, as Ms Palin suggested. Therefore it is untrue in
that context, and since our discussion was on half-truths in
       politics, death panels qualify.
