If we won't get involved in what takes place over in the middle
east because it directly effects us and our safety.

What other option do we have to protect ourselves?
Turn it into a big glass bowl?
Nuke the $hit out of it?
Exterminate them all and let God sort them out?

I guess you hit on the answer Snicks.

It's easy to desensitize the message by saying "Iraq would
rather..." Lump everyone together by giving them the label of
       "Iraq".
The fact remains there are many, the majority in fact that would
just rather live their lives without politics, terrorism and
religion mucking things up. They want to raise their kids, live
a normal life. Do some of the same things you or I would do on
       a daily basis
It would just be the same as saying the same thing substituting
Iraq with Chicago, Philly, DC, Milwaukee, Rapids, Detroit...
(insert your favorite crime riddled city here).
I think their life would be better if we just gave them a
Culvers or two. Nothing would put a smile on their face quicker
than a nice double butterburger with cheese!

I think I am due for the fried fish. And how lucky they serve it

If they are the majority, then they need to clean their own
country up. Put pressure on their own government. And as long
as they work side by side with us instead of shooting at us when
our backs are turned, I'm OK with helping.
But that isn't what happens. We're seen as the larger enemy.
Are we supposed to take control of every awful country? Who is
       paying for that?
On one hand we are cutting food stamps for our own people, yet
we have billions for perpetual policing on behalf of others who
often won't even help us fight their fight?
No thanks. That's the UN's job. They should start doing it.
If they attack US or our Allies, it's lights out.

Are you suggesting they aren't the majority? If so, Then I
guess we can say the same thing about Chicago, Rapids,
       Detroit...
I guess we shoulda just left those 10,000 people or so, up on
       the mountain to starve.

That is our own country. More than a minor difference. Perhaps
we should start to worry as much about Chicago, Detroit, Philly
as much as we do about Iraq?

You're preachin to the choir there. Seems to me a while back
you posted you thought sending troops to Africa to help with
Ebola was what the military was for. I see no difference
between killing a cancer nature made, or a cancer that's man
made. Left to their own vices, both will be here to kill before
       you know it.

The UN is the biggest joke on the planet.
       It should be disbanded.
It creates far more problems then it has ever solved.
