Have often said similar---offer a monster dollar prize for the
right technology if the congress is unwilling to fund the
research---afaic the gutting of NASA is/was a national disgrace!

The number of poorly performed salutes daily is prolly in the
millions, just is what it is. Thing I can't figure is the time
line of this "salute-gate". Appears this did not happen
immediately after the "oops", the media let it slide. This
became an issue because the white house folk took the video, ran
it through umpteen handlers who collectively decided it looked
Presidential enough to post on the white house website, that's
when someone decided it may be a problem.

       What's the point of that?
       > If we were to drill enough to flood the market with oil, OPEC
would just cut their production to keep prices up and wait us
out. I'd change my mind if US oil stayed in the US.

transport overseas, thus the price is at record lows. Oil does
       not.

Here we agree. I would like to see the oil we drill for kept
here. Without it hitting the global market, I think the price
       per barrel would drop..
I'm in favor of finding alternatives as well wind solar etc.
Until this happens we have to be reliant on the fossil fuel
teat. The way Putin is using energy a a weapon I think it's
more than prudent that we retain our oil for ourselves for
national security if for no other reason.

As far as I'm concerned on the list of stupid endeavors by this
president this is much farther down the list of stupid things.
This was just a couple of dumb mistakes. Doing it was dumb
releasing it was dumber. There was nothing in his other hand.
No reason for him not to switch hands. It comes nowhere near
as close to the top like say golfing, minutes after talking to a
       grieving family and the nation.

It's hard to come up with alternatives as well when you have the
mentality the everything you do is harmful, like burning wood
       for example

I agree. The large solar installations out west are under fire
(sorry) for frying birds in mid flight. I'm not sure what some
people want. A return to cave dwelling? I say toss a chicken up
there and wait for supper to come back down. ;D

When Bin Laden was killed. Obama was proudly proclaiming the
       words " I " and "we".
But now when an admission of guilt for under estimating ISIS
is finally made. Obama uses the word "they". He quickly throws
the intelligence agencies under the bus while puts as much
       distance between himself and them.
       Obama's narcissism is sickening.
       Obama is all about Obama.
Everything he does is for himself.
       His agendas and his ideologies.
His legacy..... Which by the way he has ruined all by himself.

You caught that too? It seems the intel community is firing
back stating Obama was provided intel that would have allowed
him to bomb the terrorists several times in the last 18 months
but chose to ignore it. I guess we can add Clapper to the ever
growing list of bodies under the bus.

       No
       We never mentioned "bussing"
       We said "bus"
And we mentioned "under it" and nothing about the back of it
       either. :D
