Not sure if this what out armed forces are supposed to be used
for. Wouldn't this be better handled by the Red Cross or the UN?

I'm not sure this is the type of thing the Red Cross is for
either. They can assist of course. The UN? Don't make me
laugh. They're more dysfunctional than Congress. I agree this
isn't really what our troops are for, but I kinda feel the same
way about ebola as I do about ISIS. Better to handle it over
there than to wait until it comes here. Both are a plague on
society.

The biggest thing is getting out information on stopping the
spread. "Hands on" funeral practices for example, result in
7-10 new infections from one deceased victim.
That and basic logistics, their medical centers are nearly
unstaffed now due to deaths and haven't even the most basic
infection control supplies.
The military can certainly handle getting supplies into place
and disseminating information.
The UN might write someone a letter. Some day. Maybe.

This is not what our military is for!! If it was happening on
our soil then I could see our National Guards assisting.

It's an integral part of our military's purpose and has been for
decades.
