What the he11 is happening in the NFL
By: trollslayer Date: September 13, 2014, 7:49 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Ray Rice is suspended probably for life. An investigation into
the investigation to find out who knew what when which is
leading to a probable Congressional investigation. WTF?
Congress doesn't have enough to do?
I'm sorry but I think they have enough to worry about. You can
disagree with the way the NFL handled it but this has gone too
far. One drunken incident leading to a well placed punch has
ruined a young mans career for life and you know the one who is
going to suffer the most? The victim. I'm not for domestic
violence in any way but I think a ban for life from the NFL is
too extreme. Meanwhile you have a guy who picked up dogs and
slammed their heads into the ground on the active roster.
Now the latest scandal, Adrian Peterson has been deactivated
after he allegedly spanked his child with a stick. Not the
brightest thing to do but didn't this used to be common place?
Didn't granny threaten to do this to Jethro on a weekly basis?
Again, not something I would do but does the punishment fit the
crime?
As I sit down with my Sunday Ticket this weekend I plan to
forget about all this if the talking heads will let me, but I am
picking against the Vikes as usual.
Addendum.
I just saw pictures of the wounds caused by the alleged stick.
What a tool!

No one knows what the Rice couple was fighting about. From what
I heard she punched him first. You can push a persons buttons so
far until a person has a breaking point. Why did she hit him?
Did he betray her trust? Did he kick her cat? Or is she just
ragging that he did not lift the toilet seat, again? I have
known women who truly were victims. I have known women who have
brought this on themselves and who really don't want anyone
interfering. I had also known a past co-worker that admitted
that she pushed her guy's buttons because "Life sometimes gets a
little boring." Have you ever noticed a case of "little man
syndrome" where a small guy wants to knock a large guy on his
duff? Sometimes there is a lot more to the story and folks
should just stay the hell out of it, unless a person asks for
help?
Jethro and Granny? Oh the boy just needed a little discipline
and once he got it he was fine. She was just trying to knock
some honesty into the boy. She loved him.
All in all he felt safe and accepted for past stupidity.

"Brought this on themselves?" Are you SERIOUS? I saw that punch.
She was out cold BEFORE she hit her head on the rail in the
elevator. I can't imagine what she could have done that would
have warranted that kind of violence. He's a f__kin' FOOTBALL
PLAYER...I'm sure he could have kept her from hitting him again
without a ROUNDHOUSE PUNCH TO THE FACE!.
If I did something like that, my company would send me a letter
saying that I broke the code of conduct, and I would very likely
lose my job. Why shouldn't he?

There are many types of people out there. I think because I am
quiet and keep to myself that makes people feel safe so I have
heard all kinds of crazy shiit from people. So sometimes we
shouldn't mix in it.

These people are adults. She wanted him. She chose to marry him
afterwards. If she wants help to get out of it she needs to
process it through her head and take the next step when she is
ready. A person who tries to force someone out of a situation
like that is just as controlling and it is not going to help. Be
prepared for the woman to turn on you just as in this case.

Still, no man has a right to go all Mike Tyson on his
significant other, even if she started it. You just don't do
it.

I could be wrong, but it appeared to me that she spit on him
before he hit her. This doesn't make her totally innocent, nor
did she deserve to get knocked out..
He lost his job. But why should he be banned from from the
league for life? If you did something like that, you may lose
your job but you could move on and find another in the same
field somewhere else. Rice doesn't have this option.
LC is right. There are women out there who are in abusive
relationships who will go out of their way to start trouble.
I've seen it more than once.

The best way to keep from losing your job in the NFL is by not
hitting a woman. Even if "she started it" if you walk away you
don't get in trouble.
But that's not what big tough guys do, is it?

It is a bit hard to walk away when in an elevator.

Well, I think that he could gave held her off in the time it
took for the elevator to stop, rather than knocking her out!
