Wagons are circled and the deflection begins

Politically motivated???!!!! Calling for an investigation into
a democrat and a republican is politically motivated? I guess it
would be cool if tom would say which party I am working for....
what a dumb @$$!

I thought the Elenore Roberts case was solved. I thought her now
deceased son did it.
Well, all you are going to do is get more votes for
Sheriff Reichert.
Sympathy votes? That type of voter needs to stay home.
Besides, why wouldn't I support the opposition? I sure in the
hell wouldn't vote for a corrupted sitting sheriff.

Are you running for Sheriff Steve? Why else would they call
concern over murders political? I think you've ruffled some
feathers.
"The Wood County Sheriff's Department would welcome the
valid and unbiased analysis of the cases that would take place
during a John Doe procedure," Reichert said. "Quite simply, the
Sheriff's Department has a vested interest in solving the cases,
and we would welcome and accommodate any vehicle that could
accomplish that."
That is what the family, as some of you know I am part of,
wants as well. I've revised my comments on this a couple of
times and still am not sure I'm getting my thoughts across
accurately, lol. But I'll try.
To us this isn't about politics or who is running for what
office. It clearly is to others and that is their prerogative.
I have no commentary on that part of it other than that I
appreciate Deidre's case being brought front and center again.
Thank you Steve for that. To our family it has been front and
center every day since March 1995. An occasional public
reminder that we are still hopeful I don't feel is out of line.
This petition is about 20 years of questions with relatively few
answers, our hope is to bring some sort of closure to this
tragedy.
I couldn't care less if the case is solved by a republican, a
democrat, the incumbent or where the blame does or does not
fall....I care that it gets solved.
I agree with the Sheriff that a John Doe would benefit all
parties. The unfortunate truth is that there simply may be
nothing new to uncover. In that case the family can at least
know the state has left no avenue unexplored.
On the other hand it may uncover something local LE can use to
put the pieces together.
There is only one way to find out, and that is all we ask- to
find out. The political aspect others may wish to include is
not relevant to us.

Steve, good for you for trying to make a difference in this
world. I know you put a lot of work into the investigation.

The number of people that are now coming out with their own
situations is overwhelming. If we get this John Doe, MANY people
in high places are going to fall.

I still don't get, how keeping the spotlight on unsolved cases
can be considered "political". It does seem that some in high
places aren't happy with this.
