Some of them are "libertarian" merely for the pot issue, lol.
No one party has it right on everything.

Heh...the youngers ones mostly, or Ron Paul cult kids. The
majority of over-30 Libertarians I've had the pleasure of
meeting are in it for the small government aspects. In theory
it would be a great idea if government stayed out of everyones
business and everyone just played nice.
They always seem to have a hard time explaining how that would
work in the real world.

Well, it did work 200 years ago with a very small, part-time
federal government and states taking care of themselves. That
setup was not without it's problems.
Most Libertarians I know are what I call "modified
libertarians", a hybrid of sorts that recognizes that government
does have an active role to play, but not as large and intrusive
as it is today. They'd never let go of their Medicare, Social
Security, FDIC insurance....
